When I saw him I automatically thought of him and my father. I was scared, no terrified of what he was going to say to me. I know I shouldn't be scared of him, but I know better. He will hurt me. Guys like him always will.
"Hey nice run," he said quite awkwardly.
"Thanks," I said. There was an awkward silence for what seemed like a million years. Then my sister, Ellie, and Abby walk up to us.
"Hey are you ready to go?" My sister asks while wiggling her eyebrows up and down at me looking at Alec. I just roll my eyes.
"Yeah I am. I just gotta load up Magic and Dakotah," I told her. When Alec starts to walk away I felt bad so I said "Hey Alec!"
He looked at me and said "what?"
"I'm looking forward to kicking your ass again at the next rodeo," I say jokingly.
"This time I'll know how good you are," he says. Right when we get in the truck my sister says.
"Details now," she told me rather excited.
"Just another arrogant cowboy who thinks he's all that," I say bluntly. My sister knows better than to push me when I'm that blunt so she doesn't ask anything more. When we arrive at Ellie and Abby's house we unload Aprohdite, dazzle, and Hollywood.
"Good job today girls!" I say. We all high five and hug each other goodbye. Once I get back in the truck Maysa looks at me worriedly. "What?" I ask her.
"Dad left you a message," she says her hand shaking. I look at my phone and it says "you are gonna pay for what you did today. Maybe your little boyfriend will too. I don't know yet though. I haven't decided yet. Count your blessings baby girl." I suddenly feel nauseous. I can't help it I burst into tears.
