Chapter 5

ALECS POINT OF VIEW

When I saw him come up to her I thought it was just another creep trying to pick her up. But then I heard shouting and me and jake looked at each other. We heard a grunt. We looked over and saw the guy on his knees. Then he got up and gave her one slap. Without hesitation jake and I ran up to them. I grabbed his fist and punched him in the face. Jake tied him up and place him by another persons trailer. We went to make sure of she was okay.

"Are you okay?" Jake asked her about a million times. She finally got annoyed and he could tell and started to walk away. "Are you coming Alec?" He asked with a puzzled expression. I said no. He gave me a smirk and I knew what he was thinking. For some reason I knew that McKenna hated me. And I deserve it. I assumed that she was rich because she had a good reputation and good horses. Now I understand why she cried when I said that. She seems so tough on the outside, but I know that look. That's a look of pain. That's the expression I wear everyday.

"Was that father?" I mumbled so softly. She nodded her head in agreement. I broke apart inside. I then realized that she has been through so much. She was abused for 11 year.

"I haven't seen him for 2 years," she said so softly that I could barely hear her. I expected her to break down, but she didn't. I gave her a big hug. I was so heartbroken for her that I couldn't even function right. I was rambling and saying how sorry I was for treating her so bad. Then it hit me. When I first met her I thought she was hot. Like smoking hot. I lied when I said that I would date Ellie. I just said that to get her jealous maybe? Trying so hard to get her to forgive me. I like McKenna. I like McKenna O'Brien.
