She’s sitting at her favourite spot in the coffee shop. She’s drinking her favourite type of coffee. She’s listening to her favourite songs. She’s not that cold, not that hot either. She’s happy. She want it to be just like this everyday. But something’s missing. Something, someone, who knows? It’s still not perfect, Julie.

He just woke up. He hurriedly put a shirt on then he ran downstairs just to watch the most anticipated basketball game. Wow Elmo, wow. He didn’t bother eating breakfast. All he wants to do is watch the game and enjoy. He’s happy. Actually, he can do this everyday. But for the first time, he’s looking for something else. Something or someone more important to him than basketball.

He called. She answered.

She sipped. He shouts for fouls.

They’re just fine hearing each other’s breathing actually.

But they knew that they can’t be just silent.

Not because she needs to tell him that she has her favourite things set up or so that he could tell her what’s happening on his stupid basketball game.

It’s because hearing each other do what they’re doing is like having that person with you wherever you are.
