The girl was nervous, it was as if she was about to get married. She was playing with her fingers and anxiously looking around as if someone was hunting her.
"Hey, relax."
Doyoung placed a warm hand on top of hers. Jaehee almost jumped at the touch, she was still unused to the skinship they had between one another but then his touch helped her to calm down. "I haven't talk to them for almost half a year, how am I supposed to act?" She asked, gripping the hem of her blouse.
"Like their daughter." Doyoung replied. "Act like their daughter, you are one." He added. Jaehee thought it would be truly uncomfortable to show up alone, she thought of taking Aeri with her but the girl was out of the country. Doyoung was the only option she had, and she was glad she brought him with her. He was comforting.
Jaehee couldn't possibly tell Doyoung to act as if they were just friends when she had finally agree to give their relationship a try just a few days ago.
Before Jaehee could reply, the door to their private dining room opened and her parents entered. Doyoung instantly stood up to greet the elders, surprising even Jaehee.
She watched as her parents enter, she called herself dramatic the fact that she expected them to look different since the last time she saw them.
Her mother gave a simple smile at the sight of her, her eye smile was something that spread warmth to her heart. It felt like home seeing them.
Jaehee's father stood tall, looking at the two as Jaehee finally stood up and follow after Doyoung whom bravely approached her parents.
"I'm Kim Doyoung, sir. Jaehee's friend." He shook her father's hand. She was a little confused with his choice of words. Jaehee didn't know what came to her mind when she said, "He's a little nervous, he's actually my boyfriend." Jaehee grinned at Doyoung slightly before turning to her parents who were both shocked.
Her mother jested at how much of a fine gentleman he was when Doyoung greeted her. Jaehee felt slightly proud to have a man like him by her side.
Jaehee nervously stepped closer to her mother before pulling her in for a hug that lasted longer than usual. A hug that meant so many things, if she wasn't strong willed enough, Jaehee would've been the first to cry. As she pulled away, she went to hug her father as well, the warmest man she had ever known.
"I don't think I'll like him." Her father managed to whisper a joke to her. Jaehee motioned for her parents to sit before she and Doyoung did the same. As her parents had their backs on them, Doyoung pulled Jaehee by the side and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before taking a seat across the elders.
"You're so damn cute." He whispered softly to her, he never expected for her to introduce him as her boyfriend and he found it so irresistible. Jaehee chuckled at his comment, pushing him towards the dining table.
Dinner became much livelier than before in her life, Doyoung was really knowledgable. He could talk about business with her father as well as some shopping related stuffs with her mother. Jaehee could see that the two grew fond of him. The girl managed to make a face at her father, proving him wrong about the guy.
Luckily, Doyoung gave no hint to her father that he was the son of his own boss. According to Doyoung, he had never been in an official meeting before as he was still an intern. However, once that happens, he won't be able to hide who he was anymore from Jaehee's father.
