"Where is he?" The woman was uneasy. She and her husband were already seated by the table where they were supposed to have their meeting. Her husband had an unbothered expression compared to her.
"He'll come, don't worry too much." He said as he resumed reading the stocks update on his device. The woman inhaled a deep breath, to keep her composure. She was an awfully elegant woman with pride, she wasn't going to lose her grip just because her son was causing trouble.
It had become common after all, her son was simply acting rebellious after she ruined the supposed love of his life. However, he lost a game of his own. He had no choice but to follow his mother's request unless he was willing to lose his job that he enjoyed so much as well.
She ended up fixing her position and as if on cue, the awaited male arrived. The son bowed slightly to his parents before taking a seat next to his mother. "You're off the schedule." His mother said. "I wasn't informed about this as we came to an agreement to cancel this engagement before." The younger one said, emphasising on the last part.
"I want you at your best behaviour with their daughter when we leave." His mother warned only to have the son rolling his eyes. Of course, he foresee that. His parents and her parents would leave them both to 'get to know each other'.
"I heard she graduated top of her class and is on her way to become one of the best finance officer. Perfect match, don't you think?"
His mother said as she nudged her husband. The elder male agreed, adding that she was a beauty as expected from a company ran by none other than women.
The description sounded awfully familiar to the younger, someone he had missed so much and hardly found it easy to forget.
Though he was running late, he managed to dress up. Plus, the other family hadn't arrive yet. As they continue to sit in silence, the door opened, revealing two females.
The three of them stood up to greet them as they took a seat across the other family. "Pleased to meet you, Ms Kwon." The male's mother started. "I'd say the same for me." Ms Kwon smiled back.
Kwon Suyeon was recently labelled as the Top 3 Most Successful Women in Korea. Her business bloomed across the country ever since she launched her own fashion brand and in no time it reached the entire Asia. She was a brilliant woman, with excellent daughters, all raised by her own.
Her story inspired many women throughout the business world and in the country itself. She stated in her interview that thanks to her husband for leaving her, she learned to pick herself up and became the better version of herself.
"Allow me to introduce my son, Kim Doyoung. He's currently the company's Compensation Officer and hopefully a senator in the future." Mrs Kim gestured over her son with pride.
Ms Kwon simply smiled at him, acknowledging his presence. She heard about him certainly, and the company he was working at. They were a huge corporation, one that could boost her business as well.
"Glad to have finally meet you, this is my daughter, Kwon Aeri." She stopped short. "She's standing as the Co-Creative Director for the company, though she's still young, she's capable." Her mother smiled at her daughter.
Doyoung on the other hand, felt uneasy. He knew the girl, she was his bestfriend's girlfriend, Kun's. It was an awfully strange coincidence to be paired up with her. Doyoung wasn't sure if Kun knew or not, he didn't want to fight with his friend when he had no feelings for the girl at all. He couldn't believe out of all people, his mysterious future fiancée turned out to be Aeri.
