O l i v e r
(All-over)

Oliver stared into the mirror and tried to flash himself a grin. It was a rather uneasy one, and he sighed in defeat.

Today he was going to tell the girl that he loved all that he had done.

He knew she'd be heartbroken. Her joyful brown eyes would darken in sorrow for the both of them. He knew she wouldn't be mad at him, simply disappointed, but he also knew that would be far worse than any anger she could portray.

He did not know how this conversation would go, but he feared he might lose her in the end. She said she loved him, but was that enough to wash away what he had done?

He turned his troubled, hazel eyes to a small box across the room. In it lay a simple diamond ring, a promise he wanted to make to the girl he loved.

He had bought it because he could not see his life without anyone but her; however, as he stared at that small black box holding the key to his wildest dreams, he couldn't help but feel immense anxiety.

However, he knew that he had to have this conversation with the woman he loved, otherwise when the time came to fully become one, she would feel hurt, betrayal, and may possibly never forgive him for not telling her before they'd made such a powerful commitment.

Oliver turned back to his reflection in the mirror and stared at his somber image. He would go to her like this, show his true feelings about his hatred for his past mistakes, and beg for her understanding and forgiveness.

So that's what he did.

Upon arriving at their designated meeting place, the park, Oliver scanned his eyes for the light, brown skinned woman he was search for. Suddenly, his eyes landed upon her sitting about a foot away on  a nearby bench.

He reluctantly trudged towards her, his hands slightly shaking in nervousness.

He quietly sat down beside her on the bench and she turned to him with a beaming smile.

"Oli! It took you long enough to get here! I feel like I've aged twenty years waiting on you, slowpoke."

Oliver grimaced. "Sorry to keep you waiting Liza."

Elizabeth, Liza, frowned. "I was only joking Oli. Is everything alright?"

Oliver felt like he was going to throw up. "I have to tell you something." He mumbled as he avoided eye contact with the girl next to him.

He could feel the tension start to emanate as she registered his words.

"What?" She asked with a slight panic in her voice. "What happened?"

Oliver took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and prayed for strength. "I'm not a virgin."

Oliver waited for a gasp of shock or a cry of disappointment but only received silence. He peeked one eye open to look at her reaction.

She stared at him one eyebrow raised and with a look of confusion.

"Um, okay. I know that. Now what did you have to tell me."

"That was what I had to tell you. And wait, you know?"

She stared at him with little amusement. "Have you already forgotten your reputation in high school? Everyone knew where you spent your weekends.

Oliver colored, his olive tone skin turning a dark red. "Oh yeah, high school. I, uh, I sometimes forget we went to the same high school."

Liza chuckled. "Yeah, because you never noticed me. I mean, a boy like you would never have noticed a prude like me."

Oliver harrumphed, "Actually, I would have noticed you because I had a thing for girls like that. I know it sounds sick, but that's who I was. I didn't notice you because it's a big high school and I never associated myself with the underclassmen. We only went to school together one year."

Liza laughed. "I guess that's true. I'm just thankful you never preyed on the younger girls. At least you had some form of morale."

Oliver smiled down at the girl he loved. "So you really don't mind that I've been with other girls?"

Liza straighten up and took on a serious tone. "Honestly, yes, it does bother me sometimes. You are much more experienced than I am. Also, this will sound embarrassing, but I don't know if you are...uh... clean I guess you would say."

Oliver averted his eyes and coughed awkwardly. "Er, yes, I'm clean. I've been to the doctor as a precaution."

Liza sighed in relief. "Well that's a relief. I didn't know how I was gonna bring that up later down the road."

Oliver raised an eyebrow at her words. "Later down the road. Why would you need to know that about me later on?"

It was Liza turn to color in embarrassment. "Uh, I only meant that, um, if you know, we ever get,er, ma-married it's something I should, uhm, like to know."

Oliver laughed. "So, you plan on getting married to a player like me?"

Liza glared at his teasing. "I mean it's not like I haven't thought about it," she snapped. "We have been together for over a year and a half."

Oliver pulled Liza into a hug. "I'm only teasing, Baby. Of course we're gonna get married."

"Is this a marriage proposal?" She asked muffled beneath his arms.

"No , not yet. But it will be one day."

"What day?"

"Somebody's impatient to marry me. Can't wait to get a load of this body?"

Liza pushed herself out of his embrace and slapped his arm. "Oh, stop teasing me."

"Listen, about the experienced thing, don't worry about that. I already told you, prudes are my favorite kind of girl. I can't wait to teach you all I know."

Liza smacked him again. "OLIVER!"

He laughed again before pulling her close to him. "I love you more than you can know. And I admire you for choosing to wait. I only wish I could've done the same for you."

Liza wrapped her arms around Oliver in comfort. "I love you too, and your past makes you who you are. I wouldn't change a thing about you."

As they say there together, Oliver wondered what he did to deserve a girl like her.
