“This is stupid!”Hana yelled, defeated, as she stood up, clutching onto the metal bars and resting her forehead on them in despair.
“It seems that you have healed well,” retorted Jaken as he folded his arms and turned away from the wolf demon who had recently managed to heal most of her wounds.
Rin giggled. Hana wished that she could have been as lighthearted as her at the moment – she usually was the cheerful kind of person, but the situation at hand seemed to have changed that momentarily.
“I could’ve easily broken out of here if they hadn’t taken my sword.”
“Don’t worry Hana-chan. I’m sure Lord Sesshomaru is on his way.”
Hana sighed. As she stood there in silence, the scent of a wolf demon caught her nose.
“I’ve told you all before – leave us alone.”She murmured.
Just as she looked up, a shadowy figure suddenly appeared in front of where they were locked in. Startled, she quickly leaped backward, her eyes widened in surprise as she hid Rin and Jaken behind her. (Her instincts to protect the girl had developed greatly over such a long period of time – Jaken had merely been in the way)
The figure then stepped into the light being caused by the moon shining through the one tiny opening that had been behind them.
He had long black hair tied into a ponytail and a brown wolf fur headband. The fur which was on his shoulders and around his lower area in the form of a pelt (actually, 'skirt' was the first word that had always come to Hana's mind whenever she'd seen the men in her tribe with it) was also brown - similar to the bushy tail behind him. He had a sword tied to his waist and claws that seemed quite dangerous. There was no questioning that, though the color of his fur was different from that of her people,he was indeed a wolf - just not one that she recognized.
“You there, I know you! What do you want?” Jaken, who seemed to be familiar with the demon, exclaimed.
Rin stepped out from behind Hana, though she did not say anything.
“I heard what this wolf lord guy was doing, and thought I’d see for myself if it was true. Someone like him challenging Sesshomaru is just stupid. Capturing his traveling companions is pretty much a death wish.”
The wolf demon sighed as Hana eyed him keenly.
“Although we’re different from each other – we’re still wolves. So I thought I’d save my kind from being slaughtered.”
“Who exactly are you?” She questioned him, still not trusting him fully. The wolf demon raised his hand, and with one quick swipe of his claws, he had managed to break through the bars. Hana blinked, wondering why she hadn’t thought of that – loss of blood, maybe.
The wolf demon tossed Hana’s sword at her. Catching it with both her hands, she hadn’t the slightest clue how he’d attained it.
“C’mon,” he said before walking away, hands on his hips, and disappearing into the shadows.
“There is no way we are following the likes of you!” Jaken squawked.
“Hey, answer my question!” Hana, annoyed at the fact that the wolf demon had completely disregarded her question, quickly made her way through the opening that he had made, following him in an angry haste. She too eventually vanished, with Rin happily following behind.
Seeing that he had no choice, Jaken had finally decided that he too should follow.

Koga... that was his name, and he was the leader of the demon wolf tribe in the East – the wolf tribe that had actually kept their natural ways and had not run from what they truly were, that being wolves.
According to Rin, he had been responsible for her death a couple years before, but he had also saved her from a vicious demon sometime after. His presence still bothered the young girl, but she said that he seemed nice enough. Jaken, on the other hand, was being quite difficult.
As they had soon found themselves exiting the territory of the Southern Wolf Tribe, Hana questioned where all the guards had been, and why she hadn’t seen her father during her entire time of being captured.
“You don’t have to worry about those idiots...for now.”
She wondered what he could have possibly done to them. Was he really that strong?
To her, Koga did not seem quite dangerous – just a bit blunt...and not to mention rude. She admired the way he seemed to care about his own kind.

“Sire, it seems that the prisoners have escaped with the aid of an unknown intruder. What are your orders?”
Another infamous smirk had found its way onto the face of the wolf lord.
He first turned to face the messenger, and then began to make his way towards the exit.
“Let the intruder and the other two go, I’ll handle things with my daughter on my own.” His order startled the other wolf demon, though he gave no opposing comment.
Soon enough, the wolf lord was gone - off to have a long awaited father-daughter talk with his young Hana.
