“That is none of your concern,” He stated, purposely avoiding looking in her eyes. She’d caught him off guard with her question. He hadn’t expected for her to have been interested in a silly thing such as the little blood on him. Some of it was his, though of course, most of it wasn’t. The two demons had indeed been a challenge for him, though, as expected, he’d been the one to emerge victorious. He’d easily disposed of one of the demons, and the other one had fled. He’d decided on being merciful, although he wondered if that had been a mistake.

Nonetheless, a few cuts to him were nothing. Besides, he didn’t wish for Hana to worry about him.

Sesshomaru began to suppose that maybe his mother wasn’t entirely wrong for pointing out how much he’d changed over time.

Once before, he had cared for no one but himself – not even Jaken, who had been travelling alongside him for so long – and now he was thinking about the well being of a woman whom he believed he had grown to love.

He kissed her, he held her, and he’d actually given in to his emotions and had taken her once in the past; he worried about her safety and always had the desire to protect her – to be around her. The only thing left for him to do was for him to admit all this to her – to admit to her that he did love her.

He looked at the sky and noticed the grey clouds, accompanied by thunder, slowly making their way over head.  It would rain soon.

This Sesshomaru…admitting to feeling the very thing I had once detested,” he thought, “love.”

Maybe one day he would tell her. But for now, he supposed, she would simply have to satisfy with his random attempts at showing her his affection.

He’d become so immersed in his thoughts that he hadn’t even noticed Hana staring at him at first.  He looked down at her and a part of him wondered what she was thinking.

Hana had smiled slightly when Sesshomaru had said “that is none of your business,” merely because she had known that he would have said something like that.

When he’d looked away from her, she couldn’t help but notice how thoughtful he appeared. It wasn’t until he had brought his eyes back down and they had locked with hers that she’d realized she’d been staring. She supposed though that she hadn’t quite been staring, but she had merely been admiring him – admiring the way he always managed to look so calm; the way his markings were perfectly etched onto his face, his golden eyes under red eyelids, his lustrous silvery-white hair…

He looked at her, and she soon found her cheeks turning a bright crimson color as she realized what she’d been thinking. However, she didn’t look away. She instead averted her gaze from his eyes and looked down at his lips. She hadn’t realized this before, but, surprisingly, Lord Sesshomaru had usually been the one to make a move on her. As she looked at his thin lips, she suddenly felt the need to change that.

What would he say, or think, rather, if she were to be the one to kiss him.

She took a step closer to him, suddenly placing a hand on either side of his face. She seemed to have startled him at first.

His skin was soft; she imagined his lips were too.

Hana tip-toed slightly, and brought her lips up to his. She felt her heart flutter with anticipation. He didn’t move as her lips soon collided with his.
She closed her eyes, blushing, as she soon found that it hadn’t taken much for Sesshomaru to give in and deepen, if not only return her kiss.

Though she’d surprised him at first, Sesshomaru hadn’t hesitated in kissing Hana back. He had long realized that he would have to get used to things such as this, seeing that Hana was, technically, ‘his’ – though, he hadn’t really expected for her to openly show such affection.

As his lips moved against hers and he wrapped an arm around her lower back to prevent her from falling, he thought back to the night so long ago when he’d taken Hana.

For her it had been rather unexpected – she had seemed so afraid, so sheepish. But now here she was, kissing him, with not only great passion but with a sudden boldness that Sesshomaru had never known she possessed.

He smirked as he kissed her back.

Maybe that conflict with her father would end up proving to be quite favorable to the daiyokai.

Hana suddenly broke away from their kiss, her face more crimson than ever as she fell back onto her feet and looked up at Sesshomaru. She’d felt a smirk form on his lips as he’d kissed her back and now she wondered why.

Still blushing and a bit scared, she asked shyly:

“Did...did I do something wrong...?”

This seemed to have pleased him, for his smirk took a long time to disappear. With an arm still around her, Sesshomaru placed his free hand under Hana’s chin, tilting her head up. He pulled her even closer towards him, leaning in to place a kiss on her neck.

Hana felt a chill run up her spine at Sesshomaru’s tenderness, and an unexpected moan escaped her lips. She blushed at the sound she had just made.

“This sudden boldness of yours...it pleases me.” Sesshomaru’s voice was low and calm as he let his lips graze the pale skin of Hana’s neck, trailing all the way down and stopping at her shoulder where he kissed her again.

She had never before heard Sesshomaru say that something she did pleased him.

She closed her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him, contented.

Sesshomaru’s hands had begun to wander over her body when suddenly, someone had interrupted:

“Sesshomaru,” they had said in a low voice that was unrecognizable to Hana, “I hope you are planning on killing that woman, because if you don’t then I will……after I dispose of you of course.”

Hana opened her eyes and noticed that the storm clouds were now overhead and the sky had grown dark.

Following the unfamiliar voice, there was thunder and drops of rain soon began to fall.
