-Connor's POV-
"-almost two years after the Detroit revolution and the fall of cyber life, New android integration agreements are still to be ma-" I stitched off the TV. I already knew what they were saying; I had no need to listen. The mummer of the TV gave way leaving only the sizzling of the pan on the stove and the quiet pants of Sumo at my feet. I watch the eggs in the pan I cook, listening to the house around me.
I hear movement down the hall; I smile-right on time. Moving the eggs to a plate I reached for a cup of coffee I had made and turned to the doorway right as Hank enters from down the hall.
"Morning Hank!" I say with a bit of cheer offering the cup.
He muttered a tired reply with a note of thanks for the coffee. He made his way to a chair by the counter sitting down and taking a large sip.
"I made eggs." I spoke, moving the plate in his direction. "It isn't fancy bu-"
"It's perfect Connor." He interrupted me making my sentence stop in its tracks, "You don't have to cook for me You know. It's not like I bought you, this isn't the old days.." He remarked leaning back in his seat.
"It's my pleasure, Hank. Besides, what else would I do while your asleep. I don't like to going on 'stand by'." I explain moving a chair to sit down across from him.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." He replied beginning into eat his food.
Sumo wagged his tail on the floor happily. I turned to look at him which made the dog hop to its feet moving over and resting it's large head on my leg. I reached down and ran my hands down the dogs neck though the fluffy fur. I debated asking Hank about the case we had been working on, but knew better as he didn't have enough coffee to deal with 'work connor' as he had put it.
-Hank's POV-
I ate and changed, preparing for work. I wandered back into the kitchen noting that Connor was gone. It did not take me much thought for me to know where he went. With a yawn a opened the back door and walked out onto the patio looking out at the pool. I stepped into the morning sun squinting slightly. I looked down.
Sure enough, I see a blur of a the android sitting at the bottom of the deep end, perfectly content.
-Connor's POV-
I sat against the white tiles at the bottom of the pool. I found the pressure of the water above my head helped me think. This was a trick I often used to work on a case, serval of which had been solved right where I sit. I feel a shadow across my eye lids. I open an eye and look though the still water above. I see Hanks distorted figure looking down at me though the calm water.I push off the bottom of the pool and float to top grabbing the side looking up at Hank.
"Whatcha thinking about under there?" He said pleasantly throwing me a towel which I caught and placed on the side of the pool. Hank leaned against one of the tables we have outside.
" I was reviewing the Johnson case," I replied, turning and lifting myself out the pool sitting on the ledge.
"Oh? Thought we solved that one." He asked from behind me.
I stood, picking up the towel and began to dry myself off as I answered. "We did, but I think there must have been some assistance to the killer, he lacks the skills necessary to craft the poison."
"He was a chemist though, surely he did." Replied the lieutenant.
"One would think, but the poison used actually needs to me crafted by someone with the skills of a botanist.. So he would have needed assistance with the brew."
"That explains why there wasn't traces of the poison at his lab. You think there was an accomplice?" He followed my theory.
"Perhaps, but I was thinking, maybe more of a supplier." I said.
"You make a good point, I guess we'll see if we can track down the supplier as well, but we have to get to work first!" He said the last bit playfully."
I smiled, "Alright lieutenant." I headed for the house.
"Yeah, you better get a move on or we'll be late!" He teased as I hurried to change.
