Eleven

Connor's POV
After about an hour and a half of data shifting and managing. My head was spinning; my secondary processor was on the verge of melt-down and we were no closer to a lead. I groan letting my head fall against the chair back, taking a few deep breaths in an attempt to cool my hard drive.

Hank eyed me from his desk. "You alright?"

I straightened and looked at him, and with a quick sigh I removed the 'pained' look from my face. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine." I respond; I didn't want him to worry about me, he worried enough as it was.

He gave me a look, but he didn't say anymore. I stood quickly to my feet and walked away. I needed a break, but more importantly I needed a lead.

As I walked down to evidence I passed by Fowler's office, "Connor!" I heard the captain shout from inside.

Regretfully I turned and entered through the glass door. "Captain?" I ask as I enter.

"What have we got on the case, Connor? Anything??" He questioned.

My head fell slightly. "No-no sir."

Fowler sighed in frustration. What about the witness-the android woman?-What have we got out of her??"

"Nothing yet, sir." I reply, "She's been in full-recovery surgery since the incident."

"Well the minute she is awake I want her statement, and I want her questioned by you, understood?" He directed.

I nodded, "Yes sir."

"Not a second to loose!" He stated as I turned to leave. 

I let the door swing shut behind me as I walked back with a breath. I caught the eye of Charles as I walked.

"Charles, I need you and Smith in charge of info while I'm gone. The second there is a lead I want to be notified! Alright?"

"Alright sir." Charles nodded, "Where are you going?"

"I've got to interrogate our witness, I'll be back soon!" With that I went back past Hank's desk. I gestured to him and he came with; We drove to the hospital.

Thankfully, it didn't take long before we got to speak with Emily- the android from cyberlife tower. Hank and I stood outside her hospital room and we exchanged a quick glance. I took a second to clear my overheating mind in an attempt to force it to function with will power alone.

I knocked gently then opened the door slowly. Emily had just finished a 14hour repair surgery to replace almost every part of her body in one shape or form. Sarah, Emily's human fiancé, who I met at the hospital last night, sat beside her, holding her hand quietly.

Upon my entry both turn to look at me and I met there eyes with my own. "Hello, my name is Connor and this is Lieutenant Anderson, we are here with the Detroit police, I'd like to ask you some questions." I said holding up my badge briefly.

Emily gave a small nod, and I stepped up to her bed sitting down lightly on the edge of it; Hank followed behind me, choosing to stand.

"Did you send my message?" Emily asked with a quiet smile, recognizing my face.

I glanced at Sarah who smiled tearfully. "He did." She replied for me, "He told me yesterday while you were in surgery." I nodded.

"Thank you." Emily concluded, "You saved my life."

"You were strong to, Emily. It takes a strong person to live through what you did." I say truthfully.

I let the moment hang in silence as we all shared a solemn nod.

"If you don't mind Emily; Could you tell me what happened that morning?" I inquire.

She took a moment to collect her thoughts, "I.. We were-umm, a team of cyber miners, trespassing to repair the erased data and sell it.- We-" She looked at my face and I nodded for her to continue, "-We had found a old back-up server that had remnants of code, we were in a high level zone- like executive director shit. I hadn't ever seen anything like it. We recovered some files.. code named 'Amorite' and they lead us to a-a thing in the wall..and then.." she faded off, she seemed to lack the words as she struggled to recall.

"Would it be easier if..?" I head out my hand and let the skin fade to white so that she could interface.

She nodded thankfully and took my hand and I fazed into her memory...

Hey! I wonder if anyone can work out what Amorite means,because it's a lit reference to the game. Anyone know? Lol
This one is pretty late, for that I apologize. If my grammar/ spelling is wrong just let me know btw. There is probably mistakes in every chapter. lol I suck..
