Connor's POV

I laid back, letting my back rest against the ambulance floor, and my feet dangle off the edge. My head swirled with emotions that bubbled in my code like foam on ocean waves.

Hank sighed sitting next me, "Case closed." He stated matter-of-factly.

I turned my head and looked at his eyes; we exchanged an expression.

"It just doesn't feel right." I said, "900 had a plan. I just need to know what it was."

The lieutenant just looked at me, "Can't you just let it go?" He asked; I could tell he was tired.

I looked away from him, out into the drizzly street. "Honesty?" I spoke quietly, "I don't think so..."

Hank huffed crossing his arms, and glaring at me.

"...sorry." I sat up slightly still looking away from his face.

Hank sighed. "You can try to talk to the witness, but I doubt you'll get anything out of her, she is still in shock."

I sat up completely. "Okay. Let me try to interview her.." Something about her had me confused. I had to work out why. I glanced back at Hank as I slid my feet to the ground. "Then we will go home." I assured him.

"Finally." Hank remarked and we both turned our heads to look at the android woman. She was a MP600 with long dirty-blonde hair- a change from her original model design. She had no injuries, but she sat on the edge of the other ambulance, wrapped in a blanket, staring at the ground.

Hank nodded, but I heard him grumble something as I walked away, probably a comment about my stubbornness that I didn't bother to listen to.

I approached the woman, and her eyes followed me, watching me carefully. Before I reached her I put my hand up. My gun was in the holster at my side, my broken arm strapped to my chest. "Don't worry!" I assured her, "I'm not him. I'm a cop. We just have the same face- same model.. I'm sorry if I scared you."

She nodded. "You didn't, I saw you in the alley when you pushed him off me. It was.. heroic, thank you." She gave a small smile.

I approached her. "Can I ask you a few questions?"

"You can try." She spoke, " the whole thing is.. kinda hard to remember.."

I looked her over. It was odd for an android to react to stress this way. "Have the mechanics tended to you?" I asked.

"Yes-yes! They say I'm fine! I don't get it either. I guess it's just trama." She crossed her arms and looked and the ground upset. It seemed like she wished she could help me.

I looked down as well. I felt bad to ask anything of her.

After a moment she sunk back with a heavy sigh. "I was walking down the alley, just heading to my car. He grabbed me-threw me into the wall.-Grabbed my neck.." she furrowed her brow. Trying to remember any details of the encounter.

I watched her face shift as she thought the moment over. I rubbed my arm absent-mindedly, finding the lack of sensation from it unnerving.

Her grey eyes flickered up to me again. "Will you sit with me?..please?" She asked in hushed tone.

I took a step closer and sat next to her against the cold metal of the ambulance car.

"It wasn't just that he grabbed me.. it felt like he stuck something in my neck.. It's almost like..." Her voice faded.

"Like what?"

"Nothing-- it was a dumb thought.."

I shifted looking at her face. Her eyes met mine, and we just shared a look.
