The four of us gathered in the graveyard at the foot of a freshly dug grave that neighboured two older ones. The weather suited the occasion and added to the depressing atmosphere. My father and I stood under a black umbrella each whilst Yargari leaned against a tree nearby.

Zero stood closest to the grave in the heavy rain. He laid down a broad bouquet of lilacs, tied with a pink string and a bell on the end, and stayed crouching with his eyes to the ground. I stepped forward and held the brolly over his broken frame.

He looked up at me and I sent a sad smile down, my hand found it's way to his head and stroked it. My father proceeded to say a few words of good will in honour of the boy who had passed. "Did you want to say something too Zero."

"No." He said quietly standing. He took hold of the umbrella in my hand and held is elbow out slightly for me to take hold of. I obliged and leaned my head on his shoulder lightly. After a few more minutes of silence he spoke again. "Let's go."

We began walking away from the grave. I glanced back at the headstones. The Kiryu family. 'To think that other monsters the exact same as myself caused this. No matter how much I say it, I'm sorry will never be enough.'

I glanced at Zero to see his bangs covering his eyes. A wet trail ran down his face, small droplets tracing over it continuously. I held onto him a little tighter.

"Things will start getting better now that the worst is over. Those who have been lost never really leave us. They'll be with us wherever we go so long as we remember them and keep them in our hearts." I spoke quietly.

Not another peep was heard from any of us as we returned home. My father put a pot of tea on and Yagari stayed for dinner. Zero shut himself up in his room that he had moved back into in the house.

Once dinner was over I walked upstairs with a tray and knocked on his door, skilfully holding it in one hand. "Zero, you didn't come down for dinner so I brought it up here for you."

He opened the door gently and took the tray uttering a thank you. I gave him a small smile and went to my own room to read over some school work.

It'd only been a day since the attack on the school and everyone had been given a few days off to rest and recover. My father had plans set for some changes in the new term. The night class was mostly disbanded however there were a few who remained to complete their education. I was going to be transferred from the day class and though reluctant, Zero agreed to move too. We were still guardians for the school and our arm sash was to be reversed in colour, changing from white to black to suit the other uniform.

I reviewed my work and completed my part of the assignment we were previously given, long into the late hours of the night. When I finally looked at my watch I decided it would be best if I went to bed. I laid under the blankets for a long while until I groaned after not falling asleep.

'Maybe a glass of water or something will help.' I thought to myself. I got out of bed and made my way to the kitchen. As I was reaching for a glass in the cupboard there was a voice behind me.

"Still can't sleep?"

I was startled and knocked the glass I was reaching for down. I reacted quickly, catching it mid air. I let out a short breath of relief then turned around.

"Don't you know not to sneak up on people?!" I whisper yelled. "Why are you down here anyway?"

"I heard you get up. Besides, I needed a drink myself." He said reaching over my head into the cupboard. He took my own glass from my hands and filled it up at the tap then returning it to me. I noticed him reach into his pocket and pull out a small container. I watched as he dropped the tablet into the water. "What's that look for?"
