Chapter 17

The afternoon came quickly and I stood guard as usual with Yuki and Zero. The night class emerged from the gate when it opened and began filing out. The section of girls where I was standing were behaving until I was roughly pulled into an inescapable embrace.

"(y/n) there you are! I've been so worried about you. Lord Kaname told us that you were terribly ill. Had I'd been allowed I would have come and visited you but I just couldn't." I struggled to free myself from the headlock I was in.

"Yeah right. If you keep strangling me, nothing good will come of it." I wheezed out while he continued rambling on. "Seriously, Hanabusa, let me go. Please don't make my life any harder. These girls are crazy. Who knows what they'll do to me."

"Aido." Zero came over and stared him down. "Let her go."

"Awh what's the matter Kiryu? Jealous?" Hanabusa teased.

"Don't be ridiculous. She has a point, just look at the death stares (y/n) is receiving upon your contact."

"Let them stare. If it comes to it I know (y/n) can take care of herself. Unlike someone else I know."

"Hanabusa Aido! Release me this instant!" I ordered angrily. He let go and backed off slightly shocked. "Now get to class! And you day class students get back to your dormitories right now!" An intimidating miasma surrounded me. Hanabusa ran off to join his class mates and most of the day class girls ran away, some of them crying.

"I never knew you could get so angry (y/n). It's kinda scary." Yuki came over and admitted her sudden fear. "Don't you think so too Zero?" I looked at her shocked.

"Not really no." He walked away as he spoke. I turned around to see a mob of angry girls.

"Hey, uh Yuki." I gulped while sweat dripped from my head.

"Yeah?" She turned to find the same group before me.

"Tell father I may be a little late to dinner tonight will you." I slowly backed away as the group inched closer. Yuki got pushed aside as I took off running and screaming followed by the others. My arms swung ferociously while I picked my knees up high. I could see Zero up ahead. "ZEEEROOO!" I skidded to a stop and hid behind him as he glared at the girls.

He looked at me before speaking as all of the girls stopped. "What's this about? Go back to your dorm! It's past curfew." They began muttering hateful comments.

"Geez, they would've killed me if you didn't help. Thanks." I laughed nervously while scratching my neck.

"Yeah. Right." He spoke coldly.

As we walked to the moon dormitory the front door opened and the Senate stood talking to Takuma. "Make no mistake. Friendship based on a fictitious peace of the small world of this academy-" I cut him off upon our arrival.

"Cross Academy is peaceful."

"(y/n)?" Takuma asked surprised.

"We're here to escort you.The headmaster said that he would like to ask you to donate a lot for the academy this time around as well Mr Ichio." I smiled.

"Follow us. We'll take you to the headmaster's office."

The senate paused momentarily. "Hm, very well."

Kaname spoke briefly. "Ichio, thanks for coming. I look forward to seeing you again in the future."

"The same goes for me as well. Goodnight." He bowed to Kaname who was standing on the balcony in the entrance.
