I didn't end up going back to sleep after Yuki left. I felt rested but I was bored. Although the effects of the vampire drug were still in play I was restless. All I had done today was lay around. It wasn't a normal for me.

As I lounged about in the bed moulding over everything there was a sudden scent that hit me like a train. "Yuki!" I whispered in a panic stricken matter. It was the scent of her blood, and there was a large amount of it too. I bounded out of the bed, all wooziness set aside while the adrenaline took over my body.

I burst out of the headmaster's house and took off toward the building in search of the source of the smell. I dashed up staircases and through corridors, whipped around corners until I spotted Zero and Yuki in the middle of a stairwell. Kaname arrived at the same time as myself. He stood at the bottom of the stairs while I stood above him at the top.

"Yuki."

"Is that you Kaname?"

"You have been reduced to a blood thirsty beast Zero Kiryu." He stood in front of Yuki to protect her.

"Kaname." I spoke inaudibly as I walked down the steps slowly in my pyjamas which was a simple pair of short-shorts and a singlet top. Yuki fainted briefly after I spoke, falling into Zero's arms as she tried to protect him.

"You devoured her mercilessly didn't you Zero? So much, that she can't even stand up." He spoke as he picked Yuki up. "How was Yuki's blood? Was it delicious?"

"Kaname!" I shouted this time making my presence well known.

"(Y/n)." He spoke with a slight tone of surprise.

"Take care of Yuki for me. I will deal with Zero." I ordered him as though he were a mere vampire, as though he had no authority whatsoever, and somehow, it worked. He walked away carrying Yuki and addressing my father who had only just caught up. Grabbing him by the scruff of his collar I pushed him. "Walk." I spoke sternly.

He obliged as he had no choice in to do as I said. He was clearly distressed. I nodded to my father as I walked past and guided the lost boy to his dorm room. We walked in and over to the basin where I unbuttoned his shirt. I tossed it aside and grabbed a cloth, wetting it to clean him up.

He stood quietly and looked down in shame. I looked at him and frowned. "You never listen to me Zero Kiryu." I went to put the wet cloth to his chest but he took hold of my wrist. He was shaking.

"How is it that you found us? How is it that you're suddenly better? Only a vampire could make it there so fast and only a vampire could find us so blindly."

"Again, really? What are you Zero?! Look at you! Don't you even-" I stopped myself pressing my lips into a thin line after yelling angrily at the idiot before me. "Just shut up and let me help you." I spat in an annoyed tone. I sighed and quickly put together a lie.

"I was heading to my father's office as there was something I wanted to discuss, feeling somewhat better now, restless and bored, I decided to go and talk to him. However before I could even make it I could hear my father yelling after Kaname and I could sense something was wrong. I kept running until I found the two of you bloodied up on that staircase and you're lucky I was even there you pathetic fool. Who knows what Kaname would have done to you."

"I would have taken his punishment, I am as he said, 'a blood thirsty beast'."

"I thought I told you to shut up." I finished cleaning up his face and his chest and picked up his hand to deal with that.

"It's true!" He yelled and yanked his hand away.

"I don't care if it's true or not!" I roughly grabbed his hand and continued my work as he stood there surprised by my sudden outburst. "Zero, when will you get it into that thick skull of yours, that there are people who care about you? Regardless!" I finished scrubbing the dry stains off of his hand and dropped it by his side harshly. I picked up his shirt from the floor and walked over to the door. "I'm going to go and wash this. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone and yes, I will be back. Go and have a shower or something, you still stink." I scrunched my nose up making a face at him before I left the room.
