YOUR POV

A week or so had passed since Mr Yagari had visited us before he returned to collect us for my fathers trial.

He knocked on the door loudly one morning forcing me to get up and answer it sleepily. I was in Zero's shirt which didn't help at the time. Yagari being, well, Yagari, decided to poke fun at the situation.

"Have a little fun last night did we Zero?" He asked when Zero walked downstairs to see who woke us up.

"No!" We both exclaimed in embarrassment.

"Not that it's any of your business anyway." I muttered with my hands on my hips.

He chuckled. "I didn't realise how short you actually were kid."

"Hey! I'm not short! And don't call me kid."

"If you're not short then why are your hands halfway up those sleeves?"

"They aren't halfway and it's because Zero's a giant." I huffed folding my arms while the excess sleeves flopped around.

He smirked. "Anyway, go and get changed. We have places to be." He ordered.

"Huh?" Zero and I both looked at each other.

"The trial is today." He stated seriously.

"Ah." I hummed in response. "Well come on Zero, you heard the man." I smiled excitedly and started pushing Zero back upstairs. Once in the room I got dressed into my uniform that I had been wearing when we left home.

Zero followed my lead. "I would have thought you'd be more upset today."

"I am. I'm really nervous. But I'm happy too because I get to see my father." I explained softly. Once dressed I belted my guardian swords to my legs and the two that my father had given to me that day to my waist.

"They'll probably make you remove those before we go in." Zero said turning around with his shirt not buttoned up completely, as usual.

"That's okay because they won't expect me to have these." I said lifting the hem of my skirt slightly to reveal the other two blades. "I'm not going in there unarmed. I'd feel a lot safer this way." I said quietly as I buttoned his shirt the rest of the way while shaking my head slightly. He rolled his eyes at me. "Don't roll those eyes at me, at least try to look respectful for once." I huffed.

"Alright." He sighed. He did his tie and pushed it all the way up to the top button. I quickly dealt with my hair and made my way down to Yagari.

"Night class uniform huh? Is that really a wise choice?" Yagari asked.

"If I have to speak today I want people to know that not all vampires have bad intentions. I want to prove that there are good vampires out there. We don't all have a lust for blood, we're not all killing machines. There's good inside. Just like my father believes. Zero is wearing his too."

"Speaking of Zero, what's taking so long."

"No idea. He should be down in a minute." It fell silent.

"So he's a regular vampire now huh?" Yagari said putting his hands in his pockets. My eyes widened and my breath hitched. "Don't look so panicked. You haven't done anything wrong." His hand plonked on my head and patted it twice.

"Well actually, according to my biological parents, the way aristocrat vampires, or level B vampires came about was through reconstructing blood bonds. Doing so passes on some of the pure bloods powers because of how much blood is devoured. So he's not exactly a level c. He hasn't shown any sign of possessing said powers yet, as far as I'm aware."
