Chapter 26

Grayson's Pov

Explaining to Ava that people are trying to kidnap her, because of me was one of the hardest things i've ever had to do. I promised her i would take care of her, and i would never let anything happen to her.

"So you're telling me I've got people from New fucking york trying to "kidnap" me"

"Well yes but you know i'm not going to let that happen"

"You can't be with me 24/7."

"You wanna bet. You will not be alone until I do what needs to be done to protect you"

After we got home we unpacked the bags. Grayson unpacked most of them. I grabbed the pregnancy test and walked up stair to the bathroom.

"Babe, where are you going"

"Im going to the bathroom."

"Okay."

I got to the bathroom and shut and locked the door. I stared at the pink box, wondering if i wanted to know. If i was ready to know. What if i'm a mother, what if i'm a bad mother. Those thoughts ran through my head. I opened up the cabinet under the sink and put it inside.

Wiping the tears from my cheek as i opened the bathroom door. I put a smile on my face and walked down stairs.

"Babe!" grayson called out

"Yes?"

"Come here please."

I walked over to him.

"I love you" he said wrapping his arm around my waist and kissing me.

"I love you too"

It's been 3 weeks since the whole people from New York trying to kidnap me thing. I'm pretty sure Grayson's more worried about me then i am honestly. I just want to go out and not have to babysitter. I'm 17 you know i like my privacy.

"I'm going outside with Finn" I said as i got Finns leash.

"I'm coming with you" Kayden said walking towards me. Grayson had just left so go to some meeting. I don't ask and he doesn't tell.

"Come on Im just outside in the BACK YARD sooo can i please go alone."

"If something were to happen to you Grayson would kill me and you know that"

" Well nothings going to happen to me in my own back yard"

"You think that, but you don't know"

"Okay if im not back in 15 minutes then you can come outside okay?"

"Okay but this is a one time thing okay."

"Thank you"

We had gotten a fence so Finn would stay in the yard. So Finn and I walked around for a little while. I heard rustling in the woods near our fence, so I grabbed Finns leash and walked back to the house.

"wait" I heard a faint whisper.
"What?" I called back pulling Finn near me, I began walking backwards.
"Please don't leave." I heard a child's voice cry out.

I walked over towards the voice. Behind the bright green leaves a little girl stood. A stuffed bunny in her arms,she held on to it as if it was the only thing she owned.

As I got closer i saw she had a little bag next me her. The poor girl look malnourished,and abused. She had no life in her,I looked at her cheeks, not rosy red cheeks,but pale ones. No color. She had a sparkle in her green eyes. She reminded me of myself.

"What's your name" I said
" Harper"
"What are you doing out here Harper." I said walking toward her. I took one step towards her and she took two steps back.

"Harper, Im not going to hurt you. I just want to help you." I said smile trying to get her to trust me.

"Are you hungry"

"Yes. Very."

"Follow me. I'll take you to the door."

I walked beside of her she was on the other side of the fence so I had to let her in.
"So how old are you miss Harper"

"Eight i think"
"Do you know when your birthday is"

"It's near the pink day"

"The pink day"

"Yes, like when all the pink hearts and stuff are out"

"Oh Valentine's Day"

"Yes"

We got to the front gate and I put in the code and let her in. I reach my hand out for her to grab. She grabbed on to a few of my fingers and we walked to the door.

"Go sit on the couch over then hun and I'll get you something to eat."

"Yes ma'am"

"Kayden!"

"Yes?"

"Come here please"

Kayden walked to the kitchen. "Are you okay?"

"There's a little girl in the living room, I let her in she's needs help"

"Shit, damn he's gonna kill me."

"No he's not call him please and talk to him and tell him to come home when he can."

I grabbed a banana and some cereal and walked to the living room.

"Here you go"

"Thank you"

We sat down on the floor and talked.

"So do you go to school"

" I don't know"

"Okay"

The door opened and closed I heard footsteps coming towards me. "Ava can I talk to you." Grayson called out.

"I'll be right back Harper."

"Okay" I turned on the tv for her.

Grayson pulled me into a hug and kissed me. "Now talk to me. Who is she? How did she get here?"

"Her name is Harper. She was in the woods. She needs out help baby"

"While talk about this later Ava right now I want to meet her."

"Harper." I called out

"Yes?" We walked over to her and sat down. "This is Grayson. He's a really good friend of mine."

"I'm Harper" she said

"Hi Harper, are you hungry."

"No, but thank you. I had a nana. The yellow thing and cereal"

I smile at Grayson. And he smiled at her.

"Harper it's getting kinda late. Do you want to take a shower or a bath"

"Can I?"

"Yes you can darling"
