Break Free

(Crystal's POV)

I woke up. It was more quieter than usual. It was sort of bright, but it was still kind of cloudy. I noticed something weird. It actually wasn't noisy, because Max would usually be talking to someone, but he wasn't.

It was as if, Max wasn't even here.

I walked into Max's room, but I didn't see him. All I saw was his blanket on the ground. "Max?", I asked. He wasn't there. I started thinking he ran off, but he would never leave his blanket on the ground. Then, I noticed, his ninja suit was gone, and his pajamas were still there.

Does he sleep in his ninja suit?

Oh well I don't care.

I didn't want Nya to have to go after him again, so I changed into my ninja suit and snuck out, again.

I figured he would be at the Clock HQ. I had to find a way to sneak in. I found a way in.

I mean, what it is with people and leaving their windows open? I mean, come on!

I walked in, but I didn't see the girl at the desk. There are no security cameras in here, so any person could just sneak in here whenever they want.

Suddenly, someone called me on my phone. It was Kai. "Where are you?", he screamed into the phone. "Kai, you're on speaker!", I said. "People can hear you!". "I don't care!!", Kai shouted even louder. "Where are you!". "I'm at the Clock HQ!!", I whisper-shouted. "What!", he shouted. "What are you doing there!". "Max is here!", I explained. "I have to find him. I don't think he ran off like last time! I think he was captured by one of them.". "I'm coming!", Kai shouted. "Kai, I don't need your help.", I said. "I can do this on my own!".

Before I could say anything else, he hung up.

I heard a loud, obnoxious groan that sounded like Max. I followed it until I saw a door with a small window. I looked through it to see Max tied a pole. I walked in. "MAX!", I shouted. "Shhh..", he said. "They're watching us...".

I looked over to see a black security camera, just staring at him.

Literally, the camera was just focused on him.

"If you come over,", he explained. "The guards will come in and take you too.". "We need to find a way to break the cameras.", I said. "You know, without causing me to get caught.". I used my silver power and shot it at the camera. I had to do it a couple times to get rid of all of them. Afterwards, I ran over and untied the ropes.

Man, whoever tied these ropes must be really good at knots.

After I finally got the knots untied, we had to run out as fast as we could, but what stood in our way was Kai.

"Well, I guess I'm late.", Kai said, with his arms crossed. "Why is Kai here?", Max asked. "Because Kai decided to bring his butt here so he can 'help' when clearly because he doesn't think I couldn't do this on my own!", I explained. Kai rolled his eyes. "Let's just go back.", Kai said.

"Where do you think you're going?".

I froze in my position. I slowly turned around to see the girl that was at the desk, only, she looked different. "I knew you'd try to pull that trick on me.", she said. "But you aren't as clever as you think!". "She's the One Dressed In Black!!!!", Max shouted. "I know it's her!". "It's not me!", she said, laughing. "I'm just the girl sitting at the front desk.". "Well, then, if it's not you, then who is it, then!", Kai asked. "Sorry, that information is a secret.", said the girl with an evil smile. "SPILL THE BEANS, GINGERLY!!!", Max shouted. "Gingerly?", Kai asked, looking confused. "It's GEM!!", 'Gingerly' said, pointing the sword at Kai. "OOH, you're scary.", Kai said sarcastically. "I'm just trembling with fear right now.".

"Trust me, you don't wanna mess with us.", Gem said. "We will call the One Dressed In Black on you if we have to.". "You're gonna call yourself?", Max said. "Pfft! We're not that stupid.". "Max.", I said. "I'm doing this for the One Dressed In Black.", Gem explained. "We all are. Even Katniss and Kate. We are the Time Warriors. The One Dressed In Black is someone you would never expect it to be!!".

"Oh.", Kai said. "I thought one of them was Hello Kitty.". "Kai.", I angrily shouted. "For the millionth time. THERE IS NOBODY NAMED HELLO KITTY!!!! KATNISS AND KATE!!! IS IT THAT HARD TO MEMORIZE!!!!".

"Katniss, Kate.", Gem said, pointing towards us. "Take them.". We turned around to see Katniss and Kate walk over. "Entering aggressive mode.", said Kate, her eyes glowing blue for a split second. The three of us got into fighting positions. "Ha, you're outnumbered!", Kai shouted. "We may be outnumbered.", said Katniss. "But we have the fighting skills of Jackie Chan.".

I was praying that they would buffer.

Katniss and Kate went after us, and we went after them.

And, I've gotta tell you. Those metal things they call fists HURT.

You know when someone goes 'surprise' and whacks you in the back of your head with a metal bat.

Yeah, that's how I felt.

Don't ask why I referred this to a metal bat.

We managed to get out of there, after Max stopped dragging his body across the floor. "I think my hand is broken.", Kai said. I just stared at him and rolled my eyes.

If your hand is broken, then how are you moving it?

It's probably not even sprained.

"We need to find out who the ODIB is.", I said. "No kidding.", Kai said. "Before we all get broken hands.". "Kai, your hand isn't broken.", I said. "How do you know?", Kai asked. "Uh, because you can move it.", I said.

 "I still think it's Gem.", Max said. "I mean, she clearly has a motive.". "It wouldn't be that obvious, Max.", I said. "She said the ODIB could be anyone.". "Yeah, like her!", Max said. "He does have a point.", Kai said. "It's NOT HER!", I screamed. "I know it's not her.". "Stop saying it's not her, because it is.", Max yelled really quickly. "You just can't accept the fact that I was right and you were wrong. You think correcting people makes you feel better about yourself. Well, it doesn't, does it?". Max turned away from me and crossed his arms.

But, I know he's gonna be fine in, like, 5 minutes.
