Downfall

*WARNING* This chapter is kind of depressing, so don't be embarrassed to admit you cried during this chapter.

(Max's POV)

I felt the rush of wind blowing through my hair as Nya drove the helicopter and sped up almost every minute. I could hear the Time Warriors yelling and shouting words I couldn't understand.

I saw Crystal peeking out the back window. "Dodge!", she shouted. I heard the rush of a missile speeding past us. Nya took a deep turn and I fell on my shoulder.

Ouch!

It really hurt.

I got up and held my shoulder in pain. If this keeps up, I'm going to break every bone in my body!

"Uh, Crystal.", I said, slowly walking up to her. "What?", she asked, sounding annoyed. "I guess you were right about the Time Master not being Gem.", I answered.

"Why didn't you listen to me?", Crystal asked, walking up to me. "I guess..", I said, with my head down. "I wanted to be right about something for once. You're always saying I'm wrong, and then I always feel wrong.".

Crystal gave me a blank stare, as if she didn't know what I was talking about.

"Don't give me that stare!", I shouted. "You know what you did! Now apologize!".

"WHAT!", Crystal screamed. "You expect me to apologize?! You got yourself into this mess, and we had to get you out! YOU ran off and got you and Nya captured, and we had to get you out! Because of you, we're being chased and trying no to die here, and you want me to APOLOGIZE!?!?!?!?!".

"I was just trying to help!!", I said, feeling tears well up into my eyes. "You weren't helping at all!", Crystal yelled, pointing her finger into my face. "You were just doing your own thing, as always!! YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT YOURSELF!! YOU EXPECT AN APOLOGY WHEN MOST OF THIS WAS YOUR FAULT!".

I felt hot tears running down my face. "STOP SCREAMING AT ME!!", I sobbed, while hiccupping constantly. "I'M SORRY, OKAY! I DIDN'T MEAN TO-".

"Oh, so now you're crying!!", Crystal yelled. "I'm crying inside right now. We're on the edge of death right now. That apology could have been used when we weren't about to die!!".

"YOU'RE SUCH A HOTHEAD!!!!!!", I blurted out, but I didn't care.

I was angry, upset, stressed, and scared at the same time.

"Welcome to life, Max!", Crystal screamed.

I suddenly couldn't take it anymore.

I pushed Crystal against the helicopter's side wall. Crystal flung back and smashed into the wall. I ran up and held her head against the wall.

I felt Crystal trying to break free, but I didn't let go. The tears still streamed down my face like a waterfall.

"SEE WHAT HAPPENS?!", I shouted into Crystal's ear. "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!".

I felt my face turn tomato red. I heard Crystal mumble something loudly, but I couldn't figure out what she said.

Then, I felt someone grab on my arm. Whoever did pulled me back away from Crystal. It was Kai.

Kai's face looked panicked.

"What the heck is wrong with you!!", Kai screamed. "You could have killed her!".

I stayed silent.
