(Crystal's POV)
Well, here it is.
The temple Zane was talking about.
It was huge, and it looked more like a cave than a temple.
"Let's go!", Ady said. "After all, we have to stop them quickly!". Thunder struck loudly right after Ady said it. "Hurry!", I said. "Before we get caught in the rain.".
We walked into the temple. "I heard the temple is filled with tests and traps!!", Ady said in a mysterious voice. "They said all of this in front of you?", I asked in confusion. "Oh, no.", Ady said. "It's just something my friends told me.". "Oh, okay.", I said.
"Crystal, watch out!!", Ady shouted. I stopped in my tracks as I looked down. I was just about to fall to my death down a cliff. When Ady yelled, it had felt as if I had a 5 second heart attack.
"That was close.", I sighed. "Yeah, you could have fell!!", Ady panicked. "I would have lost you forever!!". "Don't worry, Ady.", I said. "As long as we stay together, we will be just fine.". Ady cracked a small smile, then looked at the cliff. "How are we going to get across that?", Ady said. "That's, like, 25 feet across.". "'25 feet, 4 inches'", I mimicked. "Is what Kai would say.".
"Really?", Ady laughed, while staring at me with an amused look. "I don't know.", I said while shrugging. "I just guessed.". We both cracked up. "Okay, fun time's over.", I said quickly. "We need to get over this thing.".
"But how?", Ady said. "It's not like we have some sort of magic floating rope or bridge we could use.". Suddenly, I heard something click. I looked around for the sound until I realized Ady was stepping on something. Immediately, a piece of wood fell from the top. I thought it was going to fall down the cliff, but instead, it broke in half.
"Uh..", I said, staring at the two pieces of wood fall on opposite sides. "But.....how is that even possible?", Ady asked. "There would have to be something there to break it, right?".
I stared at the cliff for 5 seconds, exhaled, and then walked forward. "Uh, Crystal?", Ady asked. "What are you doing?". I stepped onto the emptiness of the cliff, hoping I would not fall. The part I stepped on started glowing in sky blue, forming a pathway in bridge form.
I turned around and Ady was dumbfounded. So was I.
I'm so stupid!!!
I'm STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!
WHY didn't I think of that before?
"That. Is. Amazing.", Ady gasped. We walked across the "bridge". "Well, that was surprising.", I laughed. "Yeah.", Ady agreed. "I totally didn't expect that.". "No time to chit-chat!", I interrupted. "We have to find that Infinity Gem.".
As we were walking, I saw a thick walkway, and then a skinny walkway going the other way.
Fudge-balls.
"Which way?", Ady muttered. "The thick hallway, or the skinny hallway?". "Do you want me to have another panic attack?", I asked impatiently. "You have panic attacks?", Ady asked. "That's surprising for a person like you to have panic attacks.". "Is that supposed to be an insult?", I asked, getting slightly annoyed. "No!", Ady answered quickly. "It's just that with your personality, people wouldn't think of you of freaking out easily.". "Oh", was all I had to say.
"Let's try the thick hallway first!", Ady finally decided. I let out a breath of relief.
I swear, if I have to go through another tight hallway, I'm going to scream.
We walked for about 5 minutes, and then there was some more light. "I think it's here.", Crystal said. "That's what they said!", Ady laughed, then shook her head. "This is literally the end of the temple. There are no other pathways.", I looked at Ady, feeling worried.
She sounded frustrated.
We walked across another bridge-like pathway that was even skinnier than the last.
Ady and I slowly walked closer.
Finally, we were here.
We finally had the only thing to stop the Time Warriors.
And the rain storms.
And we finally get to see the sun.
And..
You know what. I'm just going to stop talking now.
"That's weird.", Ady whispered. "It's supposed to be here. I don't see it.". "Neither do I.", I said. "I guess we went down the wrong hallway.".
"I'll go down the skinny hallway.", Ady said. "You stay here. I will come back when I find the gem.".
"Wait, you're going to leave me here?", I asked in panic. "I thought you didn't want to go down the skinny hallway.", Ady said, her frustrated voice gradually coming back.
I inhaled and exhaled deeply, becoming slightly annoyed.
"How'd you know I didn't want to go?", I asked in anger. "Well, you obviously didn't want to.", Ady argued. "You asked me if I wanted you to have another panic attack!". "But, I never told you.", I said quietly.
"Well, it's quite obvious, if you know what I mean, Criss.", Ady said.
I huffed. All of a sudden I didn't feel comfortable about Ady giving me nicknames or being here.
"Why am I here?", I asked her. "To find the Infinity Gem." Ady said. "It's the only way to stop them. Why are you acting like this?!".
"What if..", I sighed. "The Infinity Gem isn't here.", "Of course it's here!", Ady yelled. "Zane said it himself!!".
"There is no Infinity Gem.", I cried. Ady gasped. "It all makes sense.", she said to herself. "They wanted to lore us here so-". "SHUT UP!!", I interrupted. I could almost feel Ady jump.
I turned around and stared at Ady. My adrenaline was pumping and I was sweating like crazy. I glared at her angrily. "What's wrong?", Ady asked with a serious face.
I looked up to Ady and exhaled. I
"You're..", I stuttered. "You're the One Dressed In Black...".
