One month later.........

Valerie's POV :

I shot up out of my sleep, completely drenched in sweat as I woke up from my usual nightmare. I furiously wiped the tears from my face as I stomped to the shower. I took a quick shower before throwing on my usual attire before exiting my room.

I walked downstairs and entered the kitchen. As I entered, the scent of my mate flooded my lungs. Sensing my presence he turned to me and smiled.

He really does have a nice smile  I thought

"Well good morning Alpha " he greeted and I nodded in acknowledgment.

"Good morning Chris " I said.

"Good morning Alpha " the omegas greeted as I took a seat around the table. With Chris a two seat distance.

"Ladies" I said. One of the omegas passed me a plate and I nodded a thanks before digging in.

"Chris? " Sheila asked. He glanced up at her from his coffee cup.

"Hmm" he hummed.

"I was just wondering, where's your mate? Alpha said that you found your mate and is the reason why you're here plus I never seen you with a female, so who is she?" She tilted her head in curiosity. Chris quickly glanced at me and took a sip of his coffee.

"My mate is... "

"Not important at the moment " I cut him off saying. "Chris, it's best you be off now or you'll be late for training "

"Right alpha" he dumped the remains of his coffee and placed the cup in the sink  "later" and with that he left.

"Alpha? " Sheila said.

"Yes" I said in my usual tone.

"Umm.... " she hesitated to say what she wanted to ask. I started to get annoyed.

"Speak! " I growled in annoyance causing her to flinch.

"Why didn't you let him finish his statement? " she rushed out scared.

"Like I said, who his mate is, is irrelevant right now and he was going to be late "

"How can the identity of his mate be irrelevant. You let him join our pack because you claimed that he has a mate here but with absolutely no proof of that!!!! "  she yelled. I slammed my hands on the table while getting up and leaning over the table.

"Enough Sheila! " I growled threateningly and she whimpered "you are in no position to question my actions nor speak to me in that manner"

She whimpered again and put her neck on display. I pushed myself up standing up straight. "Know your place next time " was all I said before walking out.

I walked out the front door then to the back of the pack house to see Chris who was leading the group while running backwards. I smirked as he almost fell because he was looking at me.

"Everyone line up!! " I yelled and they all rush to me, lining up horizontally facing me. I started to walk passed them, my arms folded behind my back and looked at each and everyone. I picked up two staffs from the weapons collection area and turned back to them.

"Weapons training, you'll be fighting in pairs, so pair up!! " I ordered and threw the staffs to Xavier and Chris. Xavier caught it with ease but Chris wasn't expecting it so it hit him on his head before he caught it.

'Ouch! ' he said to me through the mind link and I rolled my eyes at him.

'No wining ' I told him in a monotonous voice. He looked at me hesitantly but before I could ask what was wrong he spoke.
