Chapter 14

Valerie's POV:

I signed the final document in front of me with a smile on my face.

Finally, all the arrangements have been made. Now all that's left is to inform the pack. I thought.

My office door creaked open allowing a sweet scent to flood the room. I glanced up at my mate as he entered with a mountain dew and a Dr. Pepper in his hand, smiling at me. 

"Hey my alpha." He said and I smiled.

"Hey." I said. He handed me the mountain dew and I gladly obliged. He walked around the desk stopping right beside me. I looked at him quizzically as he smirks. I let out a high pitched squeak then laughed as he grabbed my waist and lift me out of the chair with no effort. He sat down, with me still in his arms, and set me on his lap.

"So what are you doing?" He asked.

"Oh just completing some paperwork. Which reminds me." I said before I turn on the pack link.

'Everyone, there will be a ceremony tomorrow held in the pack ball room for a special announcement. This is a formal event and I expect everyone to be in attendance.'

'Yes alpha.' They all said before closing the link.

"What's it about?" Chris asked.

"This event is for me to announced to the pack that I have accepted you as my mate, their new Álfa." I hummed.

"Álfa?"

"It's Greek for 'mate of an alpha'."

"So why does it have to be formal?"

"Because its a special event. I spoke with Kendra and she agrees."

'Plus I wanted to see him in a tuxedo.' Kendra added. I mental shook my head at her.

"But won't that mean you have to wear a dress?"

"I have no issue with dresses, I just rather not wear them. Only on special occasions." I shrugged.

"Well then, I better go get a suit." I got up the same time he did. He kissed my temple before leaving.

'We'll need a dress.' Kendra reminded me. I sighed and went to my room. I walked to my closet and took out a plain white shirt, jeans and a jacket. After getting dressed, I threw my hair into a ponytail, grabbed my keys and walked to the garage. I opened the garage door and walked over to my beloved silver BMW M3 Coupé. I hopped in and drove to the nearest mall. I parked in the lot and walked into a store that apparently sells prom dresses. After browsing through, I settled for the second dress I laid my hands on. I paid for it before heading a Payless store. I returned to the pack house and placed everything I bought in the back of my closet. When I came out of the closet, Chris was entering the room. He looked at me and smiled.

"I'm back, and I see you went out too." He said.

"Yeah." I shrugged. I looked out the window and saw that the sun was beginning to set. "We should head down for dinner."

We walked out with me in the lead to the dinning hall. There were a few people there already, talking probably about the event. I took my seat at the head of the table and Chris took the nearest seat to me on my right. The omegas came in with dishes and set them down on the table. I looked down at the delicious dish filled with pasta, mashed potatoes and grilled steak. I waited for everyone to receive theirs, and once everyone received theirs and was seated at the table, they all turned their heads to me. As alpha, I'm supposed to eat first. I took up a scoop of pasta.
