Chapter 15

Valerie's POV:

I woke up in the arms of my loving mate who was lazily playing in my hair. He looked down at me, eyes shining in utter adoration. Today is his first official day as Álfa of the Scarlett Moon pack.

"Good morning Val." he said and kissed my temple.

"Good morning Chris." I smiled.

"Well, I better get to training." He said as he released me. I grabbed his arm and he stopped.

"You don't have regular training Chris, you have alpha training." I said. He gave me a confused look so I explained. "As a newly made alpha because of the ceremony last night, your body needs to adjust to your new abilities, like the alpha influence."

Understanding lit up his feature and he nodded. He looked a little upset though. I was a little confused before I realized that it's probably because he'll miss training with the others, he did form a bond with them.

"Tell you what, go to regular training. You have an hour to train with them before I start your alpha training." I said. His eyes sparkled with happiness as his smile brightened.

"Really?" He said and I nodded. He leaned over and kissed my cheek. "Thank you." He then swung his feet over the edge of the bed with his back facing me. I stared at the black markings in the center of his upper back. His mark that shows he was made an alpha. It was a wolf's head and neck curved in a crescent with a star a few inches from it's snout.

The more I stare at it the more the wolf seemed familiar. There were some dots revealing his actual skin tone on the wolf and a crescent shape on its cheek. And that's when I realized why it was familiar, it was Kendra. A subconscious smile made its way to my face as I stared at it. I grabbed my phone and snapped a pic of it.

He threw on a T-shirt and when through the door.

'Mate has us marked on his back.' Kendra howled in delight. I chuckled and got up. 'That'll keep the pesky females away.'

I shook my head and headed to the bathroom.

"Come on Chris, it's not that difficult!" I huffed in annoyance. I've been out here for an hour trying to help Chris control his speed.

"Dumb tree." He mumbled, rubbing his now bruised forehead. He turned to me. "Easy for you to say!"

"Let your wolf help you! He was born to be alpha just like you, you know! Now focus!" I yelled throwing my hands in the air. His eyes glazed over then he took off again, only trip on a rock doing a face plant. I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"You're not focused." I sighed.

"Well it ain't easy for me to focus when you're dressed like that." He countered, gesturing to my outfit. I was in a black sports bra and black track pants. I sighed again.

'Ooh I have an idea!' Kendra said.

'Well what is it.' I said, annoyed by our mate's lack of focus.

'How about we play a game of tag.' She suggested.
