Chapter 13

Valeria's POV:

My eyes fluttered open as a felt a soft tug on my scalp. I looked up at the cause only to see Chris twirling my hair with his fingers, smiling down at me.

"Good morning mate." he said.

"Good morning." I yawned. I moved to get off the bed but his arms circled around my waist, pulling me back to my original position.

"And where do you think you're going?" He asked. I turned to him and rose a brow, slightly amused.

"Did you forget I have an appointment with James in a few minutes?" I reminded him. Realization lit up his features as he released me. I walked to the bathroom and closed the door. I slowly stripped and hopped in the shower. After my bath I got dressed in my usual attire and got out to see Chris in a different shirt and a fresh pair of jeans with his hair still wet. He look at me as I walked up to him.

"Ready?" He asked. I nodded and we walked out. The second I set foot outside the room my face instantly hardened. I glanced up at Chris as he stared at me.

'No acting all lovey in front of the other pack members...... I want them to know I accepted you the proper way, by an announcement.' I told him.

'So it's back to calling you alpha?' He asked and my jaw clenched.

'Yes.'

'OK.'

We walked to the infirmary where James was flipping through a folder. His gaze turned up to us. "Good morning alpha, Chris." he said, nodding in acknowledgment.

"Good morning James." I replied in my usual cold voice.

"Good morning." Chris said. We continued inside and James motioned me to sit on the bed.

"OK alpha, how are you feeling?" He said as he checked my respiratory track.

"Better." I stated.

He nodded, moving to check my blood pressure. "That's good, any pain? Fever? Vomiting perhaps?"

"No."

He nodded and wrote a few things down on my file. He got up and walked over to a cabinet. He through the doors open and started to dig around.

"Alright alpha, I'll need a blood sample to finalize everything." and with that, he pulled out two test tubes and a needle. I growled lowly at the wretched thing. To say I hated needles was the biggest understatement of the century........ I loathed needles with a passion as strong as an alpha males possessiveness over his mate. Which is a lot. He walked back over to me, sat down and tied my left bicep. I growled and narrowed my eyes at him.

"If you stick me with more than one of those..... I will end you." He gulped and nodded then continued. He cleaned the soft spot of my elbow with alcohol and I turned away. A few seconds later I felt a prick and an unconscious soft whimper escaped my lips. I heard a low possessive growl and looked up at Chris who was glaring at James. I looked down at the doctor then at the needle that was draining the elixir of life from my body and into the test tubes. He remove the needle and disposed of it before heading to his medical lab. He came back a few moments later.

"The test should be ready in about five minutes." he said. I nodded as a reply. He started to check my vitals until he went back to the lab. He came out reading a piece of paper then looked up at us with a smile.

"Well alpha, it seem that you are back to normal since there is no trace of the concoction left in you're system. You may return to you usual alpha duties now, alpha."

My lips twitched up for a split second.

"Alright, may I take my leave now, James." I asked.

"Yes alpha."
