Chris's POV :

I watched as they took my mate to the infirmary, dumbfounded. I couldn't believe what I just saw. Valerie, my mate, is both of the wolves from my dreams. I stood there like that for what felt like more than ten minutes.

'Don't just stand there you idiot. We need to see if mate's alright. ' Allen said worriedly. I nodded at him my head. My head snapped to my door as it opened revealing Adrian, Valerie's third in command.

"Chris? You alright man?" He said.

'No we're not alright, mate's hurt.' Allen whimpered.

"Yeah, I just.......... I need to see my mate." I said in a low voice.

"Of course man, I was about to head there myself. Come on."

We walked out the pack house to the infirmary. I followed the scent of my mate until I came to a stop where her scent was the strongest. I pushed open the door and watched as all the nurses and the doctor rushed around the room. My eyes landed on my mate's body. She had tubes running along her arms carrying in and out blood from her body and some clear liquid that I didn't know and an oxygen mask on her face. The sight caused me to growl lowly.

"I'm sorry Sir, but you can't be in here." A nurse said and came over to me trying to push me out of the room. I ripped her hands off of me and growled at her. My wolf didn't want to leave his mate.

"No, let him stay Lea. He can help." The doctor, who I believes name is James, said.

"Yeah, he's her mate." Jasper said helping the doctor with a few things. She moved out of the way and I rushed to her side. After an hour or so the room started to empty slowly leaving me alone with Valerie. I couldn't leave even if I wanted to, Allen would force me to come back here. I folded my hands on the bed next to her and started to fall asleep.
~~~
My eyes shot open as I heard a groan. I watched as Valerie sat up with a groan holding her head. I grabbed her hand and her head snapped to me with a confused look on her face making me stare at her in shock. Who know she had other expressions other than stone cold and smirking.
"Chris?"  She said as confused as she looked. Our heads snapped to the door as it opened revealing James with a clipboard in his hand.
"Good you're awake. Good morning Alpha, Chris." He said.
"Morning." I said.
"Good morning James." She said, her voice coming out blank from emotion. I looked back at her and her face was back to her normal hard expression. Why doesn't she show emotions? I turned back to the doctor.
"I have the results from the tests we did on your blood." He said.
"Well, talk." She said. He flipped up the covering page.
"Well, it appears that the rogue injected you with a mixture of both liquid silver and wolf's bane in a lethal proportion that was supposed to kill you... " I cut him off with an involuntary possessive and dangerous growl that erupted from my throat.
"... But.." He continued like I didn't interrupt. "We managed to get majority of the serum out of your system but you need to rest until you are fully recovered." He then looked at me, "and Chris, you need to stay with the alpha until she recovers. "
"Why?" I asked and I looked over at Valerie who face was still hard but her eyes held confusion.
"Because even the mere presence of a mate is able to heal the other, so she'll be back to normal in about three days tops. " I nodded in understanding.
