More than 10 days had passed since the bodies were discovered, and classes had finally resumed in Evergreen. There was no lead and not a single significant clue to be found from the crime scene nor from the bodies themselves. The whole small community was shocked, as there was no crime like this to have happen before in Breme. Adding the fact that the police and investigators were no where near finding any evidence as to lead to a suspect, the town of Breme for the first time in many years felt unsafe to be in.
In Jenny's classroom, the room was filled with loud students. But this noise was different from their usual rowdy talking. Rather than the boys joshing around and making loud jokes, and the girls incessantly giggling with each other with their gossip, the room was loud with their distraught and restless remarks over their dead fellow schoolmates. Jenny though, was silent and looking down on her table with a slight frown on her face. Scott looked at her from the far right, seeing her worried look.
Then the door opened and in came Ms. Wilson, their teacher for the day's schedule. Ms. Anna Wilson was an alumna of Evergreen. After completing her course in college, she took a job as a teacher in Evergreen. In spite of the fact that she is still in her youth and considered by many of her peers (and her students) to be a very desirable and beautiful woman, her strict upbringing and picky parents made sure she had no early relationships with men, even now. But despite her being raised like she was, Anna is a very considerate and kind person to all she knew. And is beloved by her students as she always finds ways for them to succeed in their school work and studies.
Seeing her smile, albeit a visibly forced one, made the atmosphere in the classroom less tense than it was before. Ms. Wilson then asked the students to settle down as she liked for everyone to have a moment of silence for the dead boys. After the silent contemplation, Ms. Wilson then started her lesson like nothing had happened. The students saw Ms. Wilson's efforts, and were grateful for it.
After the hour and half long lesson of Ms. Wilson ended she dismissed the class. As everyone had left their seats, she called to Jericho to stay behind as she wanted to talk with him. Adam felt intrigued as to what Ms. Wilson had to say to Jericho. Adam last saw the boys alive picking on Jericho, and he felt that Ms. Wilson would tell Jericho that he is being considered a suspect or at least a person of interest of the police for their murders. After telling Scott to go ahead without him, he stayed near the door to eavesdrop on the conversation.
With the classroom now empty except for her and Jericho, Ms. Wilson called him up to her desk. Jericho made no word as he approached her, not even asking what she wanted from him.
" Jericho, how's your school life here in Evergreen going? Have you already made some friends? " Ms. Wilson asked.
" No. " he answered.
" I see... Don't worry Jericho, friends will come around sooner or later for you! " she assured him.
" ... "
" Ah yes, you might be wondering why I made you stay right? " she said to him.
" ... "
" Well Jericho, I'm worried for your grades. You see, although I never see you dozing off or doing anything non-school related on your desk, you have scores that resemble students who did not listen in class. Students of mine who are sometimes absent, at least have something to answer on their test sheets as they just ask their classmates for pointers and notes, while you even when you are physically present during lessons, it seems like anything I discuss just doesn't get written down as your answers. " she told him.
" ... "
" Is something bothering you Jericho? I don't mean to pry on your social life but I heard that you are getting bullied. Are the bullies affecting your studies? " she asked.
