Chapter 23

Liyah POV
I didn't like my baby being like this. We had sat in that waiting room for almost 3 hours and my baby was screaming for a hour and a half. I wanted to cry right along with her. We finally got put in a room. My phone had started ringing it was Dave mama.
"Where the hell is dave" she said right when I answered
"He's right here mama what's wrong ? I said
"I've been calling his phone for the pass 2 hours" she said
"Dave where yo phone?" I asked him he patted his pockets and seen it wasn't there
"I must have left it at home why?" He said
"Yo mama been calling you for 2 hours" I said
"Oh shit I was suppose to drop kairi off over there but this happened" she said
"I'm sorry mama he left his phone at home" i said
"And where are y'all ?" She asked. shit I forgot to tell her we was at the hospital
"We're at the hospital" i said lowly
"WHY THE HELL" she yelled
"Kai got sick everything happened so fast" I said
"I'm on the way!" She said hanging up
Right when I hung up the doctor came in.
"Hey I'm doctor Williams. What's going on today" he said
"Me and my daughter was out today because I was planning on taking her mama out on a date so I went to the mall to get something and Kairi was sleep the whole time. I didn't think nothing of it so i just shopped around. But when we was on our way home she was screaming crying and i felt that she had a fever so I called her mama because I didn't know what to do. Her mama came home and took her temperature it was 104 so we came here. We been in the waiting room for 2 hours" Dave said
"Could you lay her on the bed" the doctor asked. Kairi was now sleeping. Dave sung her to sleep. Dave laid her on the bed and the doctor began to listen to her heart
"Her heart sounds fine but she got a lot of mucus in her chest. I'm going to take her temp to see if it went down some" he said
He took her temperature it was now 100.3 it's going down a Little.
"Since She is so young it's not much we can do for her. I'm going to prescribe her some Tylenol for kids. Give that to her for her fever and mucus and she should be good" he said
"Okay. Are we good to go?" I asked
"Yes. You can pick up the Tylenol from Walmart or something since it's so late and all the pharmacies are closed. Sign these papers and your good to go" he said giving the clipboard to me since Dave was dressing Kairi. After I signed the papers and Dave was done dressing kairi we was about to leave when Dave mama came running in. She seen us and came straight to us.
"What's wrong? What the Say" She said taking kairi from Dave
"She got a fever and some mucus in her chest. A cold basically" I said
"Oh okay. When Dave didn't bring her and wasn't answering the phone I was worried" she said giving Dave a look
"I'm sorry mama. I was nervous I didn't know what to do I was trying to get her to stop screaming and she wouldn't" he said sounding hurt
"It's okay baby" she said rubbing his cheek. I leaned on him grabbing his arm. I know this was hard for him it was hard for me but Kairi was a daddies girl and she had him wrapped around his fingers. I'm just glad my baby okay.
