I moan internally. Another sleepless night. My mouth was sour and dry. Every part of my body begged me to stay in bed and let life rot itself away. A part of me wanted to do the same.
I steal a glance at my curtains. My heart sank when I saw golden rays of sunlight gradually illuminating a corner of my room. I sighed heavily. J-Hope heard.
"Good morning, Minjee. It is currently 6:27 a.m. and sunny, with a 23% chance of afternoon showers and scattered thunderstorms. Would you like to hear the latest news in Seoul, South Korea?" J-Hope recited.
I force myself upwards, ripping my covers away in frustration and swinging my legs over the side of my bed. Another night spent tossing and turning, searching for any scrap of sleep. Another night where I failed to find any. I ran a hand through my hair, dreading the rest of my day before it even began.
"No, thank you." I stand, dragging myself to the bathroom. It reflected a pathetic high school girl. My dark amber brown hair was as restless as I was, the strands extending outwards in every direction. My bags gave me the flattering look of a freshly shaved raccoon as they circled around my tired eyes. That's it! I can't live like this forever.
"J-Hope..." I said, turning to him with a glare that could back Satan into a corner, I straightened up with newfound determination, and a few long strides later, I was a breath away from the android. " I'm going to make a change!"

AN HOUR LATER
_______________________________________I shovel the last bit of eggs in my mouth before slinging my bookbag over my shoulder. "Dad! I'm leaving for school!" I shouted into the hallway.
"Okay! Have a nice day!" he replid.
I opened the front door to be greeted with a landscape that was completely bathed in the sun's glow; the clouds stretched across the endless blue, and the autumn breeze whispered gently in my ear. A deep breath later, I found myself clearing my lungs and emptying my clouded head. I stood for just one monent, two moments, soaking in everything that laid in front of me. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect--
"Minjee?" J-Hope interrupted. "--Jesus!" I jump at the sudden intrusion of my thoughts. I raised a flat hand to my chest, "What?!"
He extended his arm, holding my lunch box out to me. "You almost forgot this," his lips pulled upwards into a perfect toothy smile. I snatch the box from him, "Aish..."
I storm away from him, but angrily clutching my lunch box probably removed any threatening look I was trying to portray. "Have a nice day!" he called.
Jiae, my best friend since elementary school, stood at the bus stop a few steps from my driveway. "Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" I break into a jog, my bookbag tailing behind me noisily. I reach her within seconds, but that obviously didn't please her. "What took you so long? Did you fall in the toilet or somethin'?"
"Sorry," I say, bolting past her. "Wait a minute!" she yelled. I heard her thundering footsteps behind me as we ran down the street to school.

At School
_______________________________________Jiae nearly broke down the classroom door down when we arrived, making for a noisy, attention-drawing entrance. The entire class turned to us, some giggling and whispering and others sitting in indifferent silence.
The teacher looked at us as if we had gotten caught smuggling drugs. "I guess the two of you forgot school existed? Or is it that you wanted your own personal essays for homework?" he asked, tapping a ruler on his podium.
