Kitty begins to squirm in my arms, rolling over and trying to get comfortable. She tucks her knees to her chest and rests it against me, cuddling into me. Glancing over Kitty, I see no Bucky lying on the other side of the bed.
"Bucky?" I whisper.
Climbing out of bed carefully and slowly, I wander down the stairs while pulling a t-shirt on.
"Bucky?" I repeat.
Walking into the kitchen, I find Bucky sat on the kitchen counter with his legs swinging against the cupboards underneath. He looks up when he sees me, smiling briefly before looking back at the floor.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Nothing. Just thinking about Kitty last night. She cried out my name, Steve. What does that mean?" He questions.
"It was just a nightmare."
"But I've never seen her that scared and worried."
I take a few steps forward until I stand between Bucky's legs. Placing my hands on his knees, I push his chin up by using my finger. I force him to look at me.
"It was just a nightmare, Bucky. There's not going to be a fire and you won't get stuck." I point out.
"But what if it does happen." He whispers, his eyes twinkling with fear.
"Then I promise I won't let you get stuck." I say.
Bucky nods, looking up with hopeful eyes.

Pouring in the tea, Sam taps his feet on the kitchen tiles opposite me. He's wearing a pair of jeans and a blue striped polo shirt that apparently was a Christmas present. Handing him the mug, I lean my back against the kitchen counter.
"So, you and Bucky are talking again then?" He asks, peering at me over the edge of the mug he's drinking from.
"Yes. We are talking again."
"Good. Did you explain why you did it?"
"Yes, Sam, I had to and after a while Bucky forgave me."
"Hey, didn't you have a doorbell?" He suddenly questions, pointing with one finger.
"Yes. He said it got damaged." I mutter.
Sam chuckles and it echoes in his mug.
"Listen...theres something I need to talk to you about." I whisper.
"Ste? Steve?" I hear Bucky shout.
"Kitchen!" I shout back.
Bucky walks into the doorway, dressed in an outfit I picked out for him. Dark jeans and a denim open shirt with a t-shirt underneath. Stood beside him and holding his hand is Kitty, she sucks her thumb and smiles at me.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't know you had a guest. Hi, Sam." Bucky says.
"Hey, Bucky. How are you?" Sam questions.
"I'm good thanks, you?"
"I'm alright." Sam replies.
"Ste, I'm taking Kitty to the park, do you want to come?" Bucky asks.
"Sure. I'll walk down in a bit, I just have to talk to Sam for a minute." I answer.
"Okay."
"Bye bye Stevie." Kitty mumbles, waving her small hand.
"Bye bye, see you soon." I say, waving back.
I watch them walk out and close the door behind them. When I look back up at Sam, he's smiling.
