*Bucky*

My eyes flicker, begging to sleep but I can't sleep until Steve wakes up. Tears still swim in my eyes, my hand still clutching his desperately.

"Ste, please wake up. I need you. I don't want to live without you." I whisper.

"Bucky, you idiot."

My head snaps up to see Steve smiling weakly at me, his eyes wide open and shining.

"I'm not going to die." He points out.

"Thank God." I say, kissing his knuckle.

"It's okay now, they shot him. It's over." Steve points out.

I nod. But I know he's wrong. Steve is definitely wrong. Hydra has lots of Agents that most are probably watch me. They shot one of them. There's still plenty left that want to kill me. I'll agree with Steve because I don't want to start an argument when he's this sick.

Steve pulls his hand from mine and raises it, brushing his finger against my cheek. He lowers his hand and I'm surprised to see his fingertips wet with my tears.

"Stop crying, Bucky. You're safe."

"I know." I mutter, pulling his hand down from my cheek and clasping it with mine.

"Where's Kitty?" Steve asks.

"She's with Natasha." I reply.

Steve nods slowly, glancing around the room.

"You scared me, Steve." I announce.

He turns his head, giving me his full attention.

"I thought id lost you. I thought my life was over. I need you, Ste because you're always there for me and you remind me that I am a good person and that I am wanted in this world. Without you I would forget everything." I explain.

"Buck..." My name escapes his lips as he leans forward to kiss the end of my nose. "I love you and I'm with you till the end of the line."

"I'm with you till the end too." I admit.

Kitty races into the room, sitting on the edge of Steve's bed. She swings her legs and hands her Captain America teddy to Steve.

"To help make you better." She points out, grinning.

"Thank you, Kitty, that's very kind of you." He says.

"Does it hurt, Stevie?" She quizzes.

"No. Not anymore." He admits, shaking his head.

Steve laces his fingers with mine, squeezing gently.

"Iron Man said house is ready!" Kitty announces.

"Did he?" Steve questions, looking at me with hopeful eyes.

"Yep. When you're discharged we can go back home, we just need to get our stuff from the Avengers Tower." I explain.

"That's good." Steve mumbles.

"What's wrong?"

"Our things aren't going to be there. Our uniforms, the box with our photos in." He points out.

"Ste, there's something I didn't tell you. When Kitty said about the nightmare, I went out and brought a fire proof safe and put our war possessions inside. I'm not sure if it worked or not, but I tried." I admit.

"You did? That's so thoughtful." He whispers.

Racing around the front of the car, I open the passenger door and Steve climbs out. Slipping my arm around his waist, he wraps an arm across my neck for more support. Tony stands in the doorway of the new house, spinning the set of keys on his fingers.
