"Okay, so, what day is it?" Lauren asked Camila as they walked down the hallway.
"The day break starts." Camila answered. "Wait, so this means you're coming?"
"Yes... But only cause I have nothing better to do. Don't take it as an act that I'll start being all soft and nice." Lauren said as the two girls stopped at Camila's locker.
"Don't worry, I won't." Camila said turning her lock. "I am happy you're coming with us though, it's a good chance to build friendships."
"Now you've gone too far, Camz." Lauren shook her head.
"What made you change your mind?" Camila asked taking a book out of her locker.
"I don't know. I just decided I was gonna go with you guys. Nothing more." Lauren lied. Lauren couldn't go into the full story with her parents, so she had lied to the younger girl.
When Camila and Lauren arrived to the lunchroom, they sat down with Camila's friends.
"Hey, Camila. Hey, Lauren." Dinah said waving to the two girls. "Camila told me you're gonna come on vacation with the rest of us."
Lauren nodded. "I hope it won't be too much trouble for you."
"Not at all." Dinah said smiling. Lauren opened her notebook and started writing.
I'm going on vacation with Dinah, Normani, Ally, and Camila. Why? I'm doing this because it's better then seeing my parents. Part of me is actually excited to go. Why? I don't know why. I never get excited. This is weird, all the things I feel are weird. Maybe I'm changing, Shit.
Lauren shut her notebook of thoughts and rested her head on it. Camila looked at Lauren who was right beside her. Lauren opened her eyes and saw Camila staring at her, Camila quickly looked away. Camila couldn't help but not being able to take her mind off the older girl, wherever she was, her mind was always on Lauren. It's not like she had a crush or anything, she just always thought about her.
---
When Lauren and Camila arrived at health class, they sat in there seats and barely said a word to each other. Camila didn't know why the older girl wasn't speaking to her, but she didn't try to find out either.
"Are you okay?" Camila asked Lauren. Lauren didn't look at Camila.
"Yeah." She responded. Lauren lied to Camila again to face the real truth. Camila didn't ask Lauren anymore questions.
---
"So, what's going on with you and Lauren? There's definitely something there, Mila." Dinah pointed out as her and Camila walked down the sidewalk.
"Nothing is going on between me and Lauren, Dinah. Nothing, literally nothing." Camila said shaking her head.
"But you wish that something was?" Dinah asked smirking at her friend. Camila blushed at the thought of her and Lauren. "Oh my gosh, Mila!"
"Just a little." Camila muttered smiling. Dinah could barely hold her excitement. "Calm down. It's just a little crush, I'll get over it in a week or two. Besides, she'd never be interested in a... Nerd like me."
"Why not? You're a cute nerd." Dinah playfully poked at the older girl's side.
"I don't even know why I... Like her. I don't even know her. But, something tells me there is more to that rough surface on the outside, even if she doesn't want anyone to know that."
"Who knows? Maybe you could be the one who breaks through that rough surface."
"In your dreams. I'd never even get close to her enough to do that." Camila replied to Dinah.
Camila could only wish that one day Lauren would open up to Camila.
