Camila had fallen asleep as the third episode was ending. Lauren looked at her and smiled. How can anyone look so perfect? She asked herself. Her phone vibrated with a text message, so she picked it up.
{Unknown:} Hey. I miss you 😘
{Lauren:} Who is this?
{Unknown:} It's Brad. Wow. You deleted my number?
{Lauren:} I had every right to. It's not like I wanted to keep it.
{Brad:} Why can't we just go back to what we had, Lauren? I miss that.
{Lauren:} No you don't. You miss the drugs. You miss the lust.
{Brad:} I miss the love as well.
{Lauren:} What love? We never had that much.
{Lauren:} How about you do me a favor and stop talking to me? Get a life.
{Brad:} Lauren I need you. And I know you need me just as much.
{Lauren:} No. I needed you a long time ago. That was the old me.
{Brad:} Believe me. The old you is still there. I love you Lauren.Lauren put her phone back on the nightstand, frustrated. Brad took a place in Lauren's life, it was a dark place. She longed for the day when she would forget the piece, but she couldn't. Brad and his actions still had a hold on her, taking up space in her mind. She couldn't let go even if she wanted to. Lauren looked over at Camila who was shifting around. Lauren wrapped her arms around Camila and cuddled her face into the crook of Camila's neck.
Lauren couldn't help but think about Camila. Camila loved Lauren, that was hard for Lauren to process. She wanted to love Camila, but she didn't know if she could.
"Lauren?" Camila called out the older girl's name. Camila's voice was hoarse. "What are you thinking about?"
"You. Like always." Lauren answered. "What are you thinking about?"
"You. And the future. I'm trying to see if those two words go together." Camila grunted as she turned over to look Lauren in her green eyes. "Those words...I want them to be welded together, but I just don't know. Is this a temporary thing?"
"You mean like us being together forever and growing old together?" Lauren asked.
"I guess. I mean, that is what I want someday. But, would it be with you?" Camila asked furrowing her eyebrows. "I know it's a lot to think about right now, but I've just been...curious."
"I don't know much, Camila, but I do know what we have is...serious. So..." Lauren trailed off.
"I would love to grow older with you. I can't imagine doing it with anybody else. Is that...bad?" Camila asked.
"Maybe. I mean, who knows what could happen. Personally Camz, I don't wanna think about that. I wanna think about right now and how great it is to have you next to me." Lauren responded. Camila smiled, Lauren loved that smile. "But, I would like to see you in the future. Even if we aren't a thing, still keep in touch."
"I will." Camila replied smiling.
After Camila's mom got home, the girls came downstairs.
"Lauren, this is my mom, Sinu. Mom, this is Lauren." Camila introduced the two.
"Nice to meet you." Lauren said shaking her hand out. Sinu gladly shook it.
"Are you Karla's girlfriend?" Sinu asked Lauren.
"Karla?" Lauren asked furrowing her eyebrows.
"Me. Karla is me." Camila answered.
"Oh, then yes. I am dating Camila." Lauren responded smiling.
"Oh, good." Sinu smiles at the pair. "Lauren, will you be staying for dinner?"
"No, but thank you. I should be going actually." Lauren politely declined.
