-One Week Later-
As the new year rolled in, it was time to go back to school. Lauren was absolutely dreading it. But, on the plus side, the baby project was finally over. Things would go back to normal, kinda.
Camila had rushed out of the house, stuffing her school supplies in her backpack. Lauren had been standing outside waiting for her.
"Just when I thought you couldn't get any messier..." Lauren shook her head. "You always prove me wrong, Camz."
"Don't judge, Lauren. I needed to get out of the house quick." Camila slung her backpack over her shoulder. "My mom started asking me questions about you."
"What kind of questions?" Lauren asked laughing. The girls walked down the side walk.
"One's like, 'Oh is that your girlfriend?', 'When will we get to meet her?', 'Have you spotted any girl's you liked yet?' It was so annoying! But, I'm glad she accepted it." Camila said kicking a nearby pebble. Lauren nodded.
"So, the assignments finally over. You happy about that?" Lauren asked.
"Yeah, I am. It was kinda stressful. But good things came out of it."
"Like us, for instance."
The two girls walked into the school. They spotted Dinah and Normani running up to them.
"Hey!" Dinah said. The two girls waved to their friends.
"Aren't you guys just so happy to be back?" Normani asked sarcastically.
"Totally." Lauren rolled her eyes.
"Oh, won't you look at that? It's the loser club. You guys planning your next meeting?" A shrilly voice said behind the four. They turned around to see Skylar. Skylar flipped her long, red hair over her shoulder.
"Is there a reason you're here, Skylar?" Normani asked stepping towards the girl.
"Oh. Just here to check out Camila and her girlfriend." Skylar answered.
"For the last time, and I'm not gonna tell you again, so listen carefully. Camila. Is. Not. My. Girlfriend." Lauren said clapping her hands together through every word.
"Right. I forgot sluts like her can't get girls like you so easily." Skylar said eyeing the two brunettes.
"What did you just call her?" Lauren asked. "Did you just call her a slut?"
"Yes, I did. I don't stutter, Lauren. You're girlfriend or whatever she is, is a total slutbag whore. Deal with it." That was Lauren's last straw. She could see Camila's panic in her eyes. "You know what you did, Camila."
Lauren grabbed Camila and put her behind her as if that would shield her from Skylar's hurtful words.
"Don't you call her that ever again." Lauren muttered to the red-haired girl.
"Excuse me? Don't give me orders, Jauregui."
"Don't call her names and we won't have a problem. Got it?"
