It was three in the morning. Lauren was in her bed, eyes wide open. Clara's visit was the worst thing beside her going to jail. She remembered Clara's hurtful words. How could she not? She only wanted one thing, Camila. But she knew that wasn't a possibility at this time.

Across the neighborhood, Camila wasn't asleep either. She was writing in her private journal. She did this often when she couldn't sleep. She usually had too many things in her head, and she needed to get them all out.

Yesterday was Christmas. I've been hanging out with my family all day, it was nice, we were all happy. Happy moments like those make me think what would happen if I just shout out "I'M GAY!" at any moment? Would they accept me? Or would they hate me? That shit scares me. I don't know what's going to happen if I come out. It all makes me nervous and afraid. I wonder how Lauren came out to her parents...? Speaking of Lauren, I've been totally crazy about her. We're friends as far as I know, we just do things that couples would do. I would like her to be my girlfriend, but now that this whole coming out thing is in my mind, I would rather stay friends so no one gets the wrong idea. Not coming out feels like I'm not being true to myself though. I'm hiding the gay away. This whole thing is stressing me out and it's making me tired. I gotta go to bed. -C

Camila shut her journal and turned the light off.

When Camila woke up in the morning, she walked downstairs. Her mom and dad were downstairs in the living room watching TV. She decided it was time.

"Mom, Dad. I need to say something to you. I'm afraid you aren't going to like it." Camila told her parents. Her mom shut off the TV.

"What is it, honey?" Sinu asked.

"There's no simple way to say it other then this... I...like girls. And before you say anything, I don't care. I don't care if you won't accept me. All I care is that I'm finally free to be myself, and I'm not hiding a piece of me away anymore." Camila answered.

Her parents didn't say anything. They say there in thought.

"Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't want you to say something. Please, say something." Camila sighed.

"Well, I think all we can say is, you be you mija." Alejandro shrugged.

Camila groaned and rolled her eyes.

"So I went through all this trouble, making myself nervous, just for you to say 'you be you'? Tell me what you're really thinking." Camila sat down on the couch on the opposite side of them.

"Well, we've always raised you to be yourself, Karla. And if you like girls, you like girls. We can't change that. We aren't against your decision." Sinu kissed her daughters forehead. Camila smiled and walked back up to her room.

Camila grabbed her phone and texted Lauren.

{Camila:} Come pick me up.
{Lauren:} Well good morning to you too.
{Camila:} Can you seriously come pick me up?
{Lauren:} Yeah. Is everything okay?
{Camila:} I'll explain later. Come please?
{Lauren:} Yeah sure.

Camila got around for Lauren to come pick her up. She put on a pair of black leggings, a grey Harry Potter t-shirt, and white converse. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail. She looked in the mirror and liked what she saw.

She walked downstairs and waited for Lauren. When she saw Lauren walking to the door she quickly ran outside.

"Let's go." Camila said grabbing Lauren's hand.

"...okay...?" Lauren was confused on why the younger girl was so frantic. They both hopped into the car. "What's up with you?"

"I'll explain later. Let's just go." Camila hurried the other girl.
