Lauren walked into the detention room. It was quiet and dull, she could see why people wouldn't want to spend their time in that room. The walls were painted an ugly green color. And something more ugly was the red-haired girl giving Lauren the stink eye.
"Hello, Skylar. Is there a reason that you're staring at me?" Lauren asked sitting on the other side of the room.
"It's your fault I'm locked up in here. Wait until my father hears about this." Skylar said flipping her hair.
"I have three words for you; I. Don't. Care." Lauren replied. "Now, please stop talking. I can smell your breath all the way from here."
Skylar shut up, but her eyes didn't leave Lauren. She wanted to make her and Camila pay for what they did. Skylar stroked the bruise on her jaw.
The detention teacher, Mrs.Baker, came marching in the room. She gave the two simple instructions then walked back out of the room.
"You know I bet your little girlfriend, doesn't like the fact that you're here with me." Skylar said smirking. She stood up from her seat. She walked over to Lauren's seat.
"Go sit down. This isn't socializing time, but you were probably to busy flipping your hair to notice that." Lauren barked.
"But isn't it true? She probably wasn't happy that you had gotten detention, especially with me."
"Why especially with you? You think you're special?"
"Yes. And I know that people are attracted to me."
"I'm not one of them."
"You sure?"
"Yes, now go-"
Lauren was cut off. Skylar grabbed Lauren's face and connected their lips quickly. Lauren didn't kiss back, she couldn't, her lips belonged to Camila. After fighting so much though, Lauren's lips connected to Skylar's. Skylar pulled away. Lauren's eyes widened. She could barely process what happened.
"That's what I thought." Skylar said smirking. She gave Lauren another kiss.
"Why are you doing this? Are you gay? Wait, you can't be, you pick on gay people. Why did you just kiss me?" Lauren had so many questions.
"I'm full of surprises, Jauregui. By the way, you have very nice lips." Skylar told the girl stroking Lauren's lips.
When detention was over, Skylar and Lauren were allowed to go. Camila was outside the school waiting for Lauren. Skylar was the first to walk out.
"Cabello, didn't expect to see you here." Skylar said smirking.
"I'm just waiting for Lauren." Camila responded.
"Oh. Speaking of Lauren, she has very nice lips. I can see why you like her so much." Skylar laughed.
"What are you talking about?"
"Just about how your girlfriend's lips had a great time with mine. Toodles!" Skylar waved and walked away.
Camila could hear her heart break into a million little pieces.
"Camz?" Camila turned around to see Lauren. "Hey. Thanks for waiting for me."
"Yeah. Now I can see that was a fucking mistake." Camila wiped her eyes and walked away.
"Camz? What are you talking about?" Lauren asked.
"Don't do that 'Camz' bullshit with me, Lauren! My name is Camila! Not Camz! I never liked that stupid nickname!" Camila yelled.
"Whoa, Camila. What is the problem?" Lauren asked confused.
"What's the problem?! You fucking kissed Skylar! Yeah, don't think that I don't know. I should've known, you never cared about me! You only care about yourself!"
"Camila, I didn't kiss her, she kissed me."
"I don't care! You know what? Sometimes I wish I would've never met you! Sometimes I wish you were still in a jail cell with people who are like you!"
A tear rolled down the older girl's ivory skin. Camila had realized what she did, she made Lauren cry. She had never seen Lauren cry. Camila had forgotten about all the things Lauren had been through. She was so upset about what happened with Skylar, she wasn't thinking.
"Lauren-" Lauren cut the younger girl off.
"You may think that I only care about myself, Camila, but that's not true. I care about you too. Probably more then I care about myself."
"I know."
"No. You don't. Listen, I feel so much for you. I don't exactly know what those feelings are, but I just feel them. But, maybe they're not good."
"What are you saying?"
"We can't have stupid things getting in the way of this, Camila. All of these...emotions that I feel for you...they have to stop. I can't let me and my stupid decisions get in the way of your happiness."
"Lauren, stop. You don't mean any of this, I know it."
"Yes, I mean all of it. I'm saying we should distance ourselves. We jumped into things to fast and now we're getting wrecked."
Lauren wiped off a tear coming from Camila's eyes. She kissed the top of her forehead.
"If you really mean this, then will you let me kiss you one last time?" Camila asked.
Lauren nodded. Camila connected her lips with Lauren's. The kiss was passionate and deep. Lauren pulled away.
"Will we ever be able to be together?" Camila asked.
"I don't know, Camila. You need to find someone...not like me." Lauren answered.
"But, I want someone like you, Lolo."
Lauren shook her head. "Goodbye, Camila."
Lauren walked away from the other girl, leaving every moment behind. She couldn't watch herself pollute anyone else's life.
Camila stood on the sidewalk watching the older girl walk away.
"Goodbye, Lolo."
