Going Home

* Laine's Pov*

Me and Garrett were the only ones left that the judges has not seen yet.
We don't know if the top 25 is full or if one of us is gonna make it or if both of us are.

"Garrett and Laine" I looked up at Ryan

"The judges wanna see both of you at the same time okay?" He said looking at the both of us. We nodded.

It was a decent walk from the waiting area and the judges.

'Don't worry Laine you got this!'

'No matter what I'm your number one fan babe'

I can hear her sweet voice say.  I smiled knowing my baby girl is waiting for me.

Once we got into the room we took a seat in the two chairs.

"Alright, we just wanted to say this was not easy. We hate this part of the competition but it has to be done"  Lionel said to us both.

"One of you will become the top 25 and the other will be going home"
Katy said.  We nodded.

My heart was pounding. Garrett has became a good friend of mine but I really want this spot.

"Garrett. Congratulations you are going on to next week!" Luke said

"We are sorry to say Laine but you are going home buddy. Come here an give Luke a hug" Luke said

I felt my heart break into pieces. I got up and hugged the judges

"Laine don't think we cut you because you aren't talented because you are. I want you to keep doin what you are doin until its the right time okay bud?" Luke said patting my shoulder

"Thank y'all so much for the opportunity" I said leaving the stage.

I can already see the heart break on her face and I haven't even spoken a word.

Me and Garrett walked out to our families.

They all yelled and screamed and cheered because he got my spot.

My family came up to me with hopeful eyes. I smiled and shook  my head no. I looked to the ground knowing she was devastated.

"Ah its alright champ we will keep trying" my dad said I just nodded.

"I'm sorry baby."

"Thanks mom" I hugged her and looked up at my girlfriend.

"Come here" I opened my arms for her to fill them.  She did.

"I'm sorry lainey I thought you had it for sure. I was praying and praying but apparently he didn't hear me and -"

"Shhh" I kissed her lips

" I'm not worried about it. I will try again next year and keep up with social Media and keep booking shows. Our dream will come true baby" I said to her

She kissed me again and nodded smiling up at me.

"Lets go home my love"
