I shot looks between Wanda and Tony. "What-LOKI?!"
'Tony' faded in a green light to show Loki, standing..and for some stupid reason, looking highly smug. "Hello kitten."
Tasha choked on nothing, and Wanda looked like she was fully ready to make Loki choke on something.
(Don't think of infinity war don't think of infinity war don't think of infinity war)
I wanted to smack him so badly. Just pull a Jane and smack him right across the handsome face.
I think Tasha wanted to smack him too, but she looked more like she wanted to pull a Hulk and do it with a building.
"Everyone calm down," Clint said, holding his hands out creating a Jurassic World vibe.
Loki and I stared into each other's eyes. I didn't know what to think anymore.
Yet another curveball catapulted my way, and how to react to it escaped me. Completely. "Loki..what are you doing? What is your plan? I hope you have one, or I swear to god I'll kill you for all this stupid behavior!"
Crying sounded really good right now. Once again my whole body felt numb, yet on fire at the same time.
Loki raised that eyebrow at me. "Well, love, I'm here to try to mend things, again, with your comrades."
I frowned deeply at him. Almost as deeply as Tasha.
Something odd was happening, both to the room and inside me.
The urge to kiss him grew stronger.
This 'urge' had terrible, terrible timing.
Back to the part about something odd happening to the room: It was fading.
Fast, and the only thing still clear was Loki.
I searched his eyes for some explanation. "L-Loki, what are you doing?"
He didn't dare move closer yet. "Time is frozen, for now. We have all the time we need to sort this mess out."
I looked around at the blurry surroundings. "What mess?"
Loki tilted his head to the side again. "You know exactly what I mean. I can't seem to convince Thor to leave us alone, and your friends won't either. As soon as I sent you back home I realized without you for some reason I'm confused. And I realized how much trouble you'd be in."
I ran a hand up and down my arm. "Loki, are you trying to tell me something?"
Loki nodded softly. "I'm trying to tell you that no matter how much you act like you hate me, I know you don't, and I-I don't either."
I managed a scoff. "Sure. That's not obvious at all," I mocked.
Loki shook his head now. "Listen to me darling. Thor will try to keep you away from me."
He remained silent while I waited for him to clarify. "And...maybe he's..maybe he's right."
Okay, not okay. "What happens to 'I'm fighting for you'? Like when you told me that you were doing so, because someone will take me from you? Would you rather I dated Bucky?"
Loki looked mildly confused, as if wondering wether I was teasing or serious.
I felt to confused right this moment to care what he thought.
"You know what Loki? If you won't fight for me, I'll fight for you. You're drawing me in in ways I can't explain, and that drives me crazy. I don't care anymore if I shouldn't date you, I love you for the strangest reasons. And yet, they're reason enough. Loki, you're the one person I never thought I wanted but always needed, and here I am needing you. Please, Loki," My voice became begging. "Fight with me?"
He now dared to move slowly closer. "Fight with you? For what?"
"For what we have!" I exclaimed. "What we can have! For what we want! Maybe, for what they think is so wrong, but we know it's right?"
The fact our opinions had switched seemed to ignite something in me.
Loki looked away from me for a moment, licking his lips. "What do you think we'll become?"
I took a deep breath, taking one step closer to him. "I think we can become whatever each other needs," I was eluding the straight answer.
(How about a gay one? I'm kidding)
Loki frowned a little. "Meaning what?"
Why was he making me do this?' Couldn't he just read my mind and answer himself? Why did he have to make me stutter through answers? "Loki....I need someone to help me do crazy things, yet keep me from doing the deadly things. I need someone who will make living worth it, or else that 'one-step short-cut to the lobby' is the only solution you leave me with. I do those stupid and crazy things, cause if I die, I won't care. I have nothing to live for."
Loki shook his head at me. "Not true-"
"Maybe if you loved me back! They all hate me for loving you!" I argued, now shouting at full volume.
Loki didn't back away, instead he stepped closer. "I love you for that. You're the only person to love me for me. Why?"
I groaned loudly. "Will you kiss me already?! God damn it you frustrating thing!" I shouted.
His expression changed to one of pure amusement. "Kiss you! Are you sure? You do know, if I start, I may not be able to restrain myself."
I sighed. "I'll take my chances. Now kiss me!"
God that handsome face...close enough to see every detail. His piercing green eyes, thin lips and well-defined cheekbones.
One raised eyebrow and a smirk.
Perfect. Maybe not in anyone else's opinion, but certainly in mine.
The gap between us was slowly closing.
Too slow, so I reached out and gripped his collar to pull myself right to him, lips finally meeting his.
I felt pure euphoria, something new. Passionate yet soft, steamy yet respectful. Strange combinations I didn't know my body was capable of feeling at the same time.
His lips fit perfectly with mine. It felt so-"WHAT THE HELL?!"
We snapped apart, the room no longer blurry.
Ooh...what happens now...
