As soon as I brushed past Thor, whom I still refused to speak to, I grabbed Loki's hand and tugged him away from Bucky to the room on our left.
I pushed him inside and shut the door, standing a good few feet from him.
He stood tall and proud as usual. "Are you alright darling?" He asked in a silky voice.
I stared at the floor, nearly hyperventilating. "It's his fault. It's all his fault I missed everything," I panted out.
Loki moved forward, tilting my head up to look at him, one finger on my chin. "Who's, kitten?" He frowned in concern. "And for what, pray tell?"
"Bruce," I spat. "He put me in the coma! I-I could've-" I was panting uncontrollably.
Loki's eyebrows furrowed deeper. "Why?"
I swallowed, holding my stomach and stepping closer to Loki.
He stood taller.
"My abilities were killing me," I said to him, in barely a whisper. "K-killing me."
He looked concerned. "Killing you?"
I nodded. "Killing me. I-I could've died!" The realization was just now hitting me. I leaned forward, pressing myself against Loki, who hugged me lightly.
"I could've d-died...and never seen you again," I whispered. "I-I never ever thought about that."
Loki's grip was no longer light, and my toes no longer touched the floor.
He was very strong, capable of lifting me off my feet with ease. "If I lost you," he began, but never continued. This made me cry a little. Just a little, I'm too tough.
I leaned back, hands on his shoulders. He was so handsome. "I'm sorry Loki, I'm not usually one to..cry to someone. It makes me weak."
Loki shook his head. "You can come to me."
I smiled despite myself. "I'd've died a virgin!" I cried, laughing a little.
He raised one eyebrow. "Oh really? Why is that, I wonder?"
I scoffed, "Don't you dare."
He kissed my forehead softly. "I wouldn't dare do anything to you without consent."
"Good, or I'd try to kill you. Again," Bruce had opened the door. He stood in a grey sweater, glaring Loki down.
Loki set me down on my feet, standing in front of me defensively. "Can we help you?"
From behind Loki I glared back at Bruce.
Bruce nodded. "Yes, you can allow me to explain a thing or two to Y/N."
Loki looked back at me. "Why?"
Bruce sighed. "Well, body guard, she's confused and in shock. I need to either give her a sedative or at least explain myself."
Loki placed one hand behind him on my stomach to keep me from moving. "Both would be very much acceptable by me. And she'll be with you shortly," Loki said firmly, and Bruce nodded and left the room, closing the door again.
Loki turned his body back to me. "My deepest apologies m'love."
I looked up at him. "For what?"
A strand of Loki's usually perfect hair fell over his eye. "For speaking for you."
I smiled slightly and reached out a hand.
He flinched.
"Loki, it's okay," I whispered. "And I won't hurt you."
He held still while I tucked it behind his ear. "Better?" I asked.
He let out a breath of air and nodded slightly. "I believe so. And now Bruce requests audience with you. Just, kitten, promise me you won't get too angry with him or..you understand, right?" Loki began to look nervous.
"You're scared of the hulk?" I asked.
He nodded slightly.
I laughed softly. "Alright handsome, I'll be civil."
"Thank you," he said, escorting me out of the room.
