I stood, in front of Loki, panting, and looking at an even more livid Tasha.

I'd really pissed her off this time, I could easily tell. She was panting as well, but for a completely different reason.

The only person in the room who didn't look either pissed or scared silly was Loki, who never seemed to be scared.

However, I had a small inkling that he was actually slightly horrified at the look on Tasha's beautiful face.

Her eyes once agin kindled a serious and blazing fire, her whole body ridgid.

Now, I'm possitive seeing Tony's 'assassin baby' and 'Reindeer Games' kissing was somewhat of a shock.

And Tasha's body language confirmed that.

Clint put his hands on her shoulders. "Tasha, I think we should let them be-"

"Why?! So he can kill her?! Or-" she cut herself off and stood with one hand held over her face, shoulders shaking.

I didn't understand at all, and Wanda looked equally confused.

Loki stood being his usual self.

"New York," Tasha said into her hand with an uneven tone, "left us all a little less then we were before."

I gulped, stepping closer to Loki.

"We-we almost lost Tony, I was scared we'd lose Clint," Tasha looked up, her green eyes watery. "You don't understand what he did. You weren't there. So for you, forgiving him is easy."

Tasha stood taller, and allowed Clint to lead her out of the room.

I stood where I was, staring at a spot on the wall, trying to comprehend everything.

I'd messed up a bit.

Wanda took a deep breath and walked past us. She paused at the doorway. "Please, if you both don't leave, Thor will find you...and I'm not sure you want Steve and Bucky to do that either," she smiled sadly and walked out.

I could hear Loki breathing steadily, but continued to stare at the wall.

"Darling, did you listen to Ms. Maximoff?" He asked, leaning forward slightly to try to get in my eye line.

I swallowed hard again. "Do we really dare to hide from the Avengers?"

Loki looked to see where I was staring, found nothing, and looked back to me, now fully in my eye line.

So I stared at his chest.

"Darling, we have no choice-"

"Wrong," I said, my eyes feeling sleepy. "We can face them. We can-we can try to explain?"

Even I knew I sounded unsure.

Loki was staring down at me.

I wanted him to just hold me-he wrapped his arms around me.

Again with the mind reading.

Okay, I wasn't complaining when he lifted me off my feet. And I wasn't complaining when I wrapped my own arms around him and just sighed.

I couldn't cry. I'm a SHIELD agent. We don't do that.

"It's okay to cry. It doesn't make you weak," Loki whispered.

I chuckled weakly. Still reading my mind. "In Tasha's opinion it does."

He held me tighter. "Not true."

I hid my face in his shoulder and stayed as still as I could.

"When New York happened," I whispered. "You weren't in control of your own mind."

Loki didn't respond.

"Tasha's wrong," I went on. "She thinks you have no heart. You've proved her wrong."

Loki held me slightly tighter yet again.

"We," I breathed in. "Have about ten minutes before they come for you."

Loki nodded.

"What's our plan?" I wondered if he could tell just how done I was.
