RECAP:
"Hmm..." uh oh, Cara's got that look again. Every time she gets "the look" it means that she's plotting something. "I vow to make sure that you get the perfect guy for you that won't let you down, won't hurt you, and will never in this life, break your heart" she said confidently.
"Yeah, okay, Cara, you do just that." I said rolling my eyes sarcastically.
"Excuse me," said a quiet voice.
I turned around and looked into the most gorgeous blue eyes with a touch of green in them. He had tousled black hair and a hot lean body. My heart sped up and it was a race, because right when I looked into those gorgeous eyes, I felt at ease, home. I suddenly trusted him with my life.
Nathan's POV:
I walked into the Ice cream parlor all confused and alert. I had this weird gravitational pull towards it. It was like my mind was telling me that I was supposed to be there today, at this exact moment. I had no clue why...and I've never felt this way. I strolled through the isles that held freezers full of to-go ice cream boxes. I felt the gravitational pull grow stronger, and I stopped in between two isles. It was two voices talking to each other.
"-have a fantabulous time, Cara, you really deserve it." Said melodic voice. I was still replaying the sound of her voice in my head when I realized that their voices were moving further away. The last part I heard was from a second different voice:
"- when Brian and I start getting a bit further into the relationship, we can all go on a double date!" the second voice said.
I walked into the isle that they were just standing in talking. I noticed a blackberry on the floor in front of one of the freezers. I walked towards it...this time not only because of the freaky gravitational pull, but also because of my own curiosity. I picked it up and decided not to look through it, since I would hate if someone did that to me. I assumed it was the one of the girls' so I started for the cashiers.
Immediately, the gravitational pull deep in my chest told me to go to cashier number 5. This just keeps getting weird and weirder. I stopped, only to see one person and one person only. She seemed to be talking but I couldn't concentrate on what she was saying. It was like she was the only person in the whole place. She had long wavy brown hair that reached the middle of her back. I saw her from one side only, and she seemed to have long, thick lashes, and was curvy in all the right places.
I finally gathered all my thoughts together and tried to focus on talking.
She seemed to be saying something sarcastically, "Yeah, okay, Cara, you do just that."
I was surprised she didn't see me yet. I took one more step towards them...or I should say towards HER.
"Excuse me," I said, trying not to startle them...or HER.
She turned around fully to face me, and that's when I saw. Looking into her emerald green eyes, I felt...something indescribable. I felt complete; almost relief, like I was waiting for her all my life, and I had finally found her.
Her eyes seemed to widen a little as she took in my appearance. I grinned a little and continued, "I think this is your phone? You dropped it back there."
She took a while to answer and her friend next to her smirked. "No that's my phone, it must've dropped out of my jacket." she said. I handed the blackberry to her and looked back at HER.
"I'm Nathan by the way." I told her, hoping to find out her name myself.
"V-Victoria...but you can call me Vicky." She said with a small smile.
"Hey I'm just gonna go pay for the ice cream at self check-out. These lines are too long. Meet me by the car later." HER friend said as she walked away with the almost dripping ice cream.
"So, Nathan," Victoria started. I loved the way she said my name. Wow, I can't believe I just said that. "How did you figure out the phone belonged to one of us?"
Her question caught me off guard. How was I supposed to explain the freaky gravitational pull thing?
"I, uh, was walking by when I saw you guys leaving, and I noticed the phone on the ground...so I assumed it was yours...er one of you guys'" I finished, hoping she'll buy the story. It's not like it's not true...it is. I just left out the gravitational part.
"Well, thank you. You have no idea what Cara does when she loses her phone!" Victoria said, rolling her eyes as she saw Cara waving at her from the exit. I assumed Cara was the name of her friend.
"Glad to save you from the wrath of her harassment, Victoria." I said sarcastically. She blushed and said "You can call me Vicky."
"Well then, Vicky, I hope I see you again sometime." I said, knowing that I will find her again. I say this because now that I'm near her, the gravitational force is greater than ever.
"Yeah, I hope so too," she said, her emerald green eyes sparkling. "Bye, Nathan." She said to me as she walked past me. Her arm brushed against mine and at that exact moment, there was a burning sensation where she brushed against me. As soon as it had come, it disappeared.
"Sorry." She mumbled, rubbing her arm, as she walked away, leaving me in my confusion.
