Chapter 20

Serenity's POV
Tonight was the night we'd tell the twins about the mission to get Barry out of prison which ended up being a meta human jail. While I was cleaning the mess the twins made in their room and Barry tried his best to keep them both in bed, the two started chanting, "STORY! STORY!"
"Barry, who tells it tonight?" I asked knowing this was more personal for him due to me having to stay home to watch the twins while Iris lead most of this mission.
"I guess I will." He said and grabbed his chair to put it closer to mine.
"Why is daddy going to tell the story tonight?" Dawn asked.
"Well you two were still young and the mission happened during your bedtime and I didn't want to get a babysitter." I said to her while DJ nodded his head.
"Tell us the story daddy." DJ said.
Barry went on and told them about getting into the meta human jail before telling them about his plan to team up with the other metas to get out of the jail.
"Daddy teamed up with the bad people." DJ said.
"Well he had to. Iris and I weren't allowed to talk to him while he was in that jail." I said.
Barry then continued with the story about when they actually got out to meet some officers and the warden waiting before seeing Black Amunet who would be selling the metas. He also told them about The Thinker coming and stealing the other metas powers while also being able to use Becky's body his.
"So he killed them?" Dawn asked.
"Dawn what else would happen to them." DJ said to her.
"How did daddy get out though?" Dawn asked.
"Well we're almost there." I said.
Barry continued and told them about Team Flash coming in for a rescue but also what they were planning that day with Ralph being able to shift to look like another person. He told them about the retrial with Ralph coming in to look like Devoe before continuing with the party at home.
"Wow." The two said before DJ yawned.
"Now both of you should go to sleep." Barry said before kissing them followed by me. He then went to grab my hand and we walked out of the room hand in hand.
"You did good, babe." I said before leaning up to kiss him.
