Dad Got Arrested

Chapter 16

Serenity's POV

After training session today and dinner, we helped the twins get ready for sleep before telling them another story which ended up being one of the hardest stories to introduce.

"Who starts this one?" I asked Barry.

"I'll end it." He said and I nodded my head agreeing with him before starting to tell them about us leaving as a family to head to Star City to have Christmas with Ollie, Felicity, and Ollie's son, William. We'd be having a Christmas Party this time around Team Arrow instead of Team Flash before we got a signal back at the labs that there was emergency to run back with the twins carefully in my arms to see Ralph. 

"That's how Uncle Ralph was like before." Dawn gapped. 

"Makes sense." DJ said. 

"See I knew they would react differently." Barry pointed out before I continued on with the story from my side of it which was assisting Caitlin with the whole Amunet problem. 

"I knew she was crazy." DJ said. 

"We've all known bro." Dawn said and I giggled a little when the two started to bicker back and forth reminding me of Ollie, Thea, and I. 

"Would you like me to continue on?" I asked trying to get their attention back before seeing them nod their head. I then told them about that Christmas leaving out details such as Cisco's gift from Gypsy. We then got closer to Barry's arrest before I stopped and looked over at Barry. 

"Mommy continue." Dawn whined out. 

"What happened? It can't end like that where was dad in that whole fight?" DJ whined out as well. Barry then nodded his head to me letting me know it was his time to shine. 

"While your mother was handling the Amunet problem with everyone else, I was actually stuck in Devoe's little lab he had. End of story is that I was able to get out and spend Christmas with everyone before I ran home to get something I forgot and...." Barry said before becoming quiet. 

"Daddy what happened?" Dj asked with Dawn nodding her head. I held Barry's hand knowing this was why we were scared to tell them about that time before he continued, "I got arrested that night." 

"WHAT?!?!?!" The twins gasped out. 

"What did you do?", "How did you get out?", "How aren't you in jail?" The two said out in a hurry.   

"Your father was accused of murdering Devoe who was found dead at his house but the rest of our questions will be answered." I said and calmed the two back to an almost sleepy state. 

"When will that be?" DJ asked. 

"Soon now sleep you two." I said when Dawn yawned and nodded her head before her brother did the same thing. 

"Goodnight my angels." Barry said and we kissed their foreheads before leaving their room. 

"Well that went as what I expected." I said to Barry when we got to our bedroom. 

"I told you." Barry said and laid us on the bed. 

"But you froze up, are you ok?" I asked and brought my hand to caress his check. 

"I'm fine." He said and I looked into his eyes to see the truth before he brought his lips to kiss my neck. 

"Barry." I said trying to get his attention but he kept kissing, "Barry, Barry, Bear." I finally was able to push him away a little, "Not tonight, the twins." 

He nodded his head before we went to change into our night clothes and got back into bed to snuggle into one another. 

"I love you." He said. 

"I love you, too Bear." I said.
