"I hope you don't mind," I gazed at Colis with a small smirk. "Just precautions."

"No...problem," his voice sounded strained as he was disarmed and cuffed.

The UNSA guards patted him down completely- for weapons, microphones, etc- and then looked at me. I uncrossed my arms and stepped forwards. Colis narrowed his eyes.

"Fair warning, you're about ten seconds from being attacked."

"I can take it," he grumbled, looking to the entrance of the lift.

I nodded and then led the way. Colis stood next to me in the elevator, his jaw set in a stiff clench. My eyes roamed over the rest of his body in triumph. He looked so...vulnerable.

As the lift came to stop and the doors opened, I widened my eyes in surprise. Dani stood with her arms crossed and she was glaring strictly at me. I gave the guard next to Colis a glance, telling them to go ahead, and then met Dani.

"How could you let him on board? After everything-"

"We need to talk and then you'll understand," I spoke softly.

Dani pursed her lips in disagreement, glaring after Colis in hatred. "I'm going to have a hard time controlling myself, Terra, and I'm sure I won't be the only one. I won't lie to you when I say that this hasn't been your best decision."

Before I could try and persuade her of my other plan, Dani stormed past Colis towards the bridge. My heart sank at the possibility of losing respect I'd tried so hard to gain from the rebels.

"Come on then," I looked at the soldier holding Colis and followed Dani.

Upon entering the bridge, I could feel the entire place tense up. It also raised ten degrees, an uncomfortable heat to the normality of the room. I subtly swallowed and moved to the table- blank from being cleared of any hint of plans by Elijah.

All three of the rebels glared at the SDF leader, their eyes dangerously close to attacking. Scarlett stood off to the side, her visor turned towards me as if silently protecting me. I threw her a gracious glance and then faced the table.

"I would introduce him, but-"

"What the fuck is he doing on board this ship?" Caleb demanded, his voice so angry I felt a painful tug at my heart.

"I've come to...talk," Colis spoke slowly, his voice the warmest I'd ever heard it at.

There was a heavy silence in the room and then angry glances made their way at me.

"Well get to it," Caleb spat. "The sooner I can kill you, the better."

Colis swallowed, restrained in his motions. "After much thought and a short conversation with Terra, I think it's in all of our best interests for me to join your...side, too put it simply."

I raised my chin when Dani shot me a stern glare of disapproval.

God, it would be nice to have Reyes by my side at the moment.

I mentally told myself to shut up. I could handle things on my own and stand on my own two feet. Reyes was resting in his quarters like I'd ordered him to upon reaching the Ruination; Colis had finally caved in to my request of allowing me access to communication with Elijah and it thus led to current events.
