The next few days were absolute bliss. We missed school, and we were always hanging around either Lucas's house or our house. Riley and Farkle were closer then ever, barely ever away from each other, and were almost always touching. Holding hands, or overlapping their legs. Farkle and Riley cooked together and slept together in Riley's room, just like it was before Farkle transformed. I told Zay and Josh they could have my room, but they both awkwardly refused to sleep on the bed, so they slept on the floor.

Lucas and I... Lucas and I were something else. We stayed up every night, watching TV and raiding the fridge and talking. We would stay up until three a.m., then fall asleep on the couch, just like we did that one night when Farkle was transforming.

We were in the dining room right now, crowded around the wicker table, eating something that Farkle and Riley made.

"Holy crap," Zay mumbled through a mouthful of food, "What is this? It's amazing!"

Riley and Farkle exchanged a glance, "Spanish rice. Not actually Spanish, though. We found it in an old recipe book Farkle got from the library."

It was marinara sauce, cheese, and pasta. Zay was right, it was good. I sat next to Lucas, leaning my head against his shoulder. Riley and Farkle sat across the table from us, with Josh and Zay next to us. I hated to be this sappy, but we were like one big, happy family.

"I don't get it," Riley said, "I thought werewolves ate, like, wild deer, or something."

Farley chuckled, "No, Riley. We can eat whatever we want. And I probably couldn't stomach eating a live deer." He looked queasy at the thought.

The table went silent for a few moments. I saw Farkle and Zay exchange a glance, and I could see Zay hand something to Farkle under the table. I was curious, but I knew they weren't doing anything bad, so I didn't worry about it.

"Do you guys want cookies?" Riley asked, pushing her chair back.

I snorted, "What kind of a question was that? Of course I want cookies." Riley laughed and went into the kitchen to get them.

Farkle took a deep breath and straightened his shirt, like he was preparing for something.

Riley walked back in, carrying the plate of chocolate chip cookies. She put them on the table, and everyone grabbed one. They were delicious, warm and gooey and soft.

Farkle took a deep breath and stood up.

"Farkle...?" Riley said.

Farkle got down on one knee and pulled something out of his pocket. The box that Zay had passed him under the table. He opened it to reveal a diamond ring.

"Riley Matthews, you make me happier than any person I have ever met. I didn't know what I had until I almost lost you, and almost dying made me realize that I took you for granted. Will you make me the happiest werewolf in the world and marry me?"

Riley covered her mouth with her hand, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Yes," she breathed.

We all clapped and cheered as Farkle slipped the ring onto her finger and he twirled her in the air.

Lucas hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. I hugged Riley and Farkle, but they were too busy gazing into each others eyes to notice.

"Can I talk to you, outside, for a minute?" Lucas whispered in my ear. I nodded numbly and followed him out the door.
