My Mom, Riley's Mom, and Farkle's Mom all arrived at the same time.
I hugged my Mom, who told me Shawn would be there in a bit. Topanga asked about the bracelet, and I told her Riley loved it. Mrs. Minkus wasn't as close to me, so we greeted each other politely, but not as comfortably and warmly as I was with Topanga.
Mrs. Minkus rushed up to see Farkle, and my Mom and Topanga rushed up to see Riley.
Riley was ecstatic when she saw Topanga and Mom.
"Mommy!" she cried, throwing her arms around Topanga as best as she could without messing up her dress. Or her hair. Or her makeup.
"Hi, baby. Maya said you liked the bracelet?" Topanga asked.
"I love it!" Riley cried. I smiled, because when Riley was this happy, you couldn't help but be happy, too.
"Hi, Mrs. Hunter!" Riley said, hugging my Mom.
"Please, Riley, you've known me long enough to call me 'Katy.' Congratulations on the wedding," Mom said, kissing Riley lightly on the forehead.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Riley called.
Josh opened the door and poked his head in.
"Pre-wedding photo shoot with the girls," he said, holding up his camera in explanation.
Riley stood up, "Great, come on in."
Josh walked in, looking wary at the high population of females in the room.
So, we did a photo shoot. My Mom loved it, she was constantly posing. We did one with Just Riley, Riley and I, Riley and Topanga, me and my Mom, Riley, me, and Topanga, and so on. Josh had taken over two hundred photos by the time we were done.
"I'm going to photo shoot the guys," Josh said.
"I'll come. Lucas doesn't know how to photo shoot," I said.
"Neither does Farkle," Riley said.
"Or Zay," I finished. Josh laughed as I followed him out of the room and down the hallways.
I was, inexplicably, one hundred and ten million percent correct. When I walked in, Lucas, Farkle, and Zay were practicing acting 'camera natural.' This involved Farkle staring longingly into space, which was punctuated by Zay smacking his face.
"Sorry, dude. Mosquito," he said. I had to stifle a giggle.
Then, it was Lucas, balancing his foot on a chair and leaning on his knee, looking brooding, Then, his arm slipped, and he ended up kneeing himself in the face. He rubbed his nose, where a considerable red spot was not forming. I rolled my eyes and positioned them so they were all standing like perfectly normal human beings. We did one with Farkle and Lucas, Farkle and Zay, and then several dozen more of the guys goofing around and generally acting like idiots.
A few minutes later, Josh beckoned me over.
"Come on, Maya. Shot of the Best Man and the Maid of Honor," he said.
I laughed, that was me and Lucas. Lucas grabbed my hand and pulled me to the middle of the room. Then, he picked me up on his shoulders.
"Take it like this," he said, laughing.
Josh chuckled and click, snapped away.
I was holding on to Lucas's head and giggling like a three-year old.
Just then, Topanga stuck her head in.
"Maya, you and Riley have to get your nails done. Hi, Farkle. And Lucas. And Zay. And Josh," then, I heard her walk back down the hallway.
I climbed down from Lucas's shoulders.
"Gotta go," I said, pecking him on the cheek, then leaving.
Mani-pedis. My favorite.
Not.
