Lucas was giving me a tour of his ridiculously beautiful Pack House.
We were up on the second level.
"This is the floor for the bedrooms," Lucas explained, "There are eight bedrooms. The standard number for Pack Members is six. So, we have six Pack rooms and two guest rooms."
I counted them, "One for Zay, one for Josh, one for Farkle and Riley, one for you and I, and four extras.
He raised his eyebrows at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I didn't think you would want to share a room with me," he said.
I snorted, "We've slept together for the past week on a couch, why can't we sleep in a bed?"
He laughed, "Yeah. You're right."
"Where's our room?" I asked.
He led me to the door on the left at the end of the platform and pushed the door open.
It was really Lucas, is a good word to describe it.
The bed was shoved in the corner, with a nightstand between it and the wall. The covers were pulled up, but he didn't smooth down the sheets before he pulled the covers up, so there were a bunch of lumps. The pillows were mismatched black poofy pillows and red flannel pillows. The nightstand was full of books. Lucas's favorites: Eragon, The Hunger Games, Unwind, The Maze Runner, and a few Marvel comics that I didn't recognize. There was laundry on the floor, and the whole room smelled of Lucas.
He rubbed his neck, clearly embarrassed that I saw his room this messy.
"I couldn't think of a better place to sleep," I said, kissing him. He took my hand, smiling, and we went up to the third floor.
On the third floor, there was a gym, a library, a game room, and two bathrooms. There was another bathroom on the fourth floor, along with a storage room, another library, and a sort of home theater, but instead of a huge screen on the wall and a bunch of theater chairs, there was a huge screen on the wall and the floor was covered in pillows. Then, there was a room where the entire outer facing wall was made of glass. There were lounge tables and a fridge, and a huge chute in the wall. Lucas took me over to the wall, and I gasped.
There was a massive swimming pool in the backyard, and the chute was a slide.
"This place is amazing, Lucas!" I cried.
"I'm glad you like it. Do you want to see something?" he asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Absolutely," I said.
He grabbed my hand and led me to the library down the hall. It was amazing, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. He crossed the room to one of the shelves and perused the books. Finally, he rest his hand on a book called Wolf. He pressed on the spine of the book, I heard something click, and the bookshelf slid open.
I gasped and pulled back the bookshelf-door to reveal a secret room. It had a slanted ceiling with a bed in the corner. It had a table, a mini-fridge, a microwave, sink, and an oven. There was another bookshelf on one wall, and two cabinets across from it.
"Lucas! What is this place?" I cried, walking around the room.
He shrugged, "This is where I went when I had to disappear when the Alpha was in a bad mood. I was the second one in the Pack, and I put a lot of extra stuff into the house. Some of it is secret, like this room. Some of it is not, like the game room," he said.
"We didn't go into the game room," I said, looking up at him.
He smirked, "Let's go, then."
We left the room, closing the bookshelf. As we walked, I realized that Lucas gave me a part of him. That room was Lucas, afraid for his life. I had only seen Lucas that vulnerable once, and I never wanted to again.
