Drizzlepaw, Jaggedpaw, and Blackpaw stood there, frozen. Drizzlepaw shook in fear, she could scent her companions fear as well.
The monster raced closer, Drizzlepaw knew that this was the end. Will StarClan let us join them? Of course they would, right?
All of a sudden, a red-brown pelt flashed in front of them. Oaklight shoved them across the thunderpath, heartbeats before the monster roared by. Drizzlepaw relaxed as she noticed they were all safe. Her ears were ringing as Oaklight spoke.
"What were you thinking?! What if I wasn't here to save you?!" Oaklight glared at them. Drizzlepaw looked down.
"We're really sorry! Blame it on me! I convinced them to come with me!" Jaggedpaw insisted. Her ears were flat against her head as she met Oaklight's gaze.
Oaklight shook his head. "Anyways, let's get back to camp, there are some cats I want you to meet. Your punishment will be decided later."When they got back, there really was a few cats waiting for them.
"Everyone, these are my apprentices, Drizzlepaw, Jaggedpaw, and Blackpaw!" Oaklight pointed to each apprentice with his tail. Jaggedpaw puffed out her chest as her name was called.
Two orange tabbies stepped forward, each holding a small kit in their mouth.
They put the kits down and dipped their heads. The she-cat spoke first; "Greetings, my name is.... er.... Firelight now. This is my mate, Brightpelt and our kits. The orange tabby she-cat is Flamekit and the black she-cat is Cinderkit. They are a moon old."
Next, two gray cats took the tabbies place. Two kits, around the same age as Flamekit and Cinderkit, play fought behind them.
"My name is Redclaw. This is my mate Breezetail, and our kits Featherkit and Rosekit. They are two moons old." Redclaw growled, lashing her tail.
Breezetail dipped his head. "Please forgive Redclaw, she isn't usually like this. She is just stressed at the moment."
"It's fine. These two kits are almost our age too! Just around 7 moons younger!" Blackpaw exclaimed, though there was a hint of sarcasm in her voice. Drizzlepaw smiled then watched the two gray cats join the two orange tabbies.
Finally, a beautiful white she-cat stepped forward. She smelled like herbs.
"My name is Snowleaf. My mother knew how to use herbs and taught me. Oaklight said I should be medicine cat." The she-cat purred calmly.
Blackpaw walked over to Snowleaf. "I could tell you some things I know about being a medicine cat. My sister was a medicine cat apprentice when I lived in ShadowClan."
Snowleaf nodded. "I would very much appreciate it. There was a cat in my dream when I was just a kitten. They told me Oaklight would ask me to join FireClan, and that I needed to say yes. I guess this is the path they chose for me."
Blackpaw winked. "That's the path StarClan chose for you. StarClan accepted us!"
Drizzlepaw looked at Snowleaf and smiled, not realizing Jaggedpaw was talking.
"Hey! Are you even listening?!" Jaggedpaw demanded.
Drizzlepaw looked at Jaggedpaw. "Yeah, I was."
"As I was saying, this is so cool! New members of our clan!" Jaggedpaw said with excitement.
Drizzlepaw nodded with agreement then looked at all the new cats. "Welcome to FireClan!""Jaggedpaw, your punishment will be to get moss and herbs for Snowleaf. Breezetail can go with you." Oaklight ordered.
Jaggedpaw looked at Oaklight with disgust. "Moss? Herbs? Yuck!"
"Would you rather collect mouse bile?" Oaklight asked calmly.
Jaggedpaw rolled her eyes and padded out of camp. Breezetail said goodbye to his family then followed the apprentice into the forest.
Drizzlepaw raced over to Featherkit and Rosekit. "Want to play mossball?!"
Rosekit and Featherkit looked at each other then looked back at her, excitement shining in their eyes. "Yes!"
"Can I join?"
Drizzlepaw turned around to see
Blackpaw. "Of course! It can be you and me against Featherkit and Rosekit!"
Blackpaw nodded and passed the mossball to Drizzlepaw.
Drizzlepaw stopped it with her paw. Featherkit leaped towards it. He missed it by a heartbeat.
"Hey I had that!" Featherkit protested.
"You have to be quicker next time!" Drizzlepaw flicked the mossball back to Blackpaw. Rosekit pounced on Blackpaw's paw, missing the mossball.
"Hey that's my paw!" Blackpaw yowled. Featherkit quickly took the mossball away from her.
"Serves you right!" Rosekit squeaked.
"Rosekit! Featherkit! Get over here!" Redclaw called from the nursery.
"We have to go. Thanks for playing with us!" Featherkit mewed, racing over to his mother, Rosekit at his heels.Jaggedpaw had come back with the herbs and moss. Breezetail and Brightpelt started to build bramble walls around the camp.
Blackpaw and Drizzlepaw raced each other to the apprentices den and curled down in their nests. Drizzlepaw closed her eyes, smiling. FireClan was getting stronger each day. Soon they would get their revenge, and the clans or Nev could do nothing about it.
