Drizzlepaw held a giant rabbit in her jaws. Leappaw walked beside her, carrying a squirrel. Drizzlepaw looked at Oaklight as he led FireClan away from the gathering and back to camp.
"That was amazing." Leappaw purred, his voice muffled from the prey. "You beat all of the apprentice's! Amberstar was so angry!"
"I know." Drizzlepaw smiled. "Now they have to admit that we're a clan, not just a bunch of rouges."
"We got all of this prey because you won." Leappaw said. "The clan will be fed well tonight.""Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Hightree for a clan meeting!"
Drizzlepaw pricked her ears as she heard Oaklight's voice. She was lying down in her nest, resting since she won the Pin Battle the previous day.
Drizzlepaw got to her paws and walked over to the Hightree, sitting down next to Leappaw and Blackpaw.
"I believe four apprentice's are ready to be made warriors," Oaklight started. "Drizzlepaw, Leappaw, Blackpaw, and Jaggedpaw, please step forward." Oaklight beckoned them with his tail.
Drizzlepaw took a deep breath then stepped forward, next to the other three apprentice. She smiled. This was it, she was finally going to be made a warrior.
"Drizzlepaw, you have proved yourself by winning the Pin Battle. This will be a great victory, one that will be remembered in FireClan for generations to come." Oaklight lifted up his head. "I call our warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice," Oaklight looked at Drizzlepaw. "Drizzlepaw, from this moment forward, you will be known as Drizzlefrost. StarClan honors your loyalty and your strength, and I'm proud to call you a full warrior of FireClan."
Drizzlefrost closed her eyes, smiling as her name was cheered. Leappaw and Blackpaw's cheers seemed to be the loudest.
"Drizzlefrost! Drizzlefrost!"The ceremony was finally over. Blackpaw had been named Blackstorm, Jaggedpaw had been named Jaggedclaw, and Leappaw had been named Leapfrost.
They all sat outside of the camp entrance. Jaggedclaw yawned, obviously bored.
"Do we really have to stay quiet the whole night?" Jaggedclaw hissed, unsheathing her long claws.
"Yes." Drizzlefrost replied. "You're a warrior now, you can handle being quiet for one night."
Jaggedclaw growled while Blackstorm blinked sleepily.
"I'm so tired." Blackstorm whispered.
"At least we don't have to sleep in the apprentice's den anymore. Rosepaw is so annoying." Jaggedclaw argued.
"Yeah. She wasn't even at the ceremony today." Leapfrost agreed.
Drizzlefrost smiled. "But now we have to deal with Bateye."
Jaggedclaw lashed her tail. "Of course. I can't ever get a single moment of peace."Drizzlefrost and the other newly made warriors walked into camp.
Drizzlefrost yawned. She didn't get any sleep since she stayed up all night guarding the camp.
She walked over to the apprentice's den, longing to get some sleep.
"Hey mousebrain, you're a warrior now!" Jaggedclaw snapped from behind her.
Drizzlefrost turned around, smiling. "Right. I still can't believe it."
"Neither can I." Jaggedclaw said with a smirk. "Now come on. We need to get some rest."Drizzlefrost woke with a start, blinking her eyes as she got to her paws.
Drizzlefrost walked out of the den, carefully stepping over the sleeping cat's.
She looked around camp. Most of her clanmates were either sleeping or sharing tongues. She sighed and padded towards the camp entrance, deciding to go on a walk.Drizzlefrost sniffed the air, relishing the scent of the forest. She moved on towards the twoleg place. Pricking her ears, she climbed a tree, and looked down at two cats. One, a black tom, was circling a tortoiseshell kit. The kit's eyes were wide with fear, and Drizzlefrost growled silently to herself. She had to save that kit. But why would a cat attack a kit in the first place?
Drizzlefrost dropped down, her claws unsheathed. She smiled with triumph as her claws met the toms fur, pinning him down.
The black tom looked over his shoulder at her in surprise. "Get off of me!"
"No. Not until you leave this kit alone." Drizzlefrost growled, digging her claws deeper into the cat's pelt.
The tom hissed in pain. "Fine! Get off of me and I'll leave the useless scrap of fur alone!"
Drizzlefrost jumped off, landing in front of the kit in case the tom backed out of his deal. But the tom turned around and fled into the twoleg place.
Drizzlefrost turned to the kit. "Are you okay?"
The little she-cat was shaking. "Y-Yes. Now that you saved me."
Drizzlefrost smiled. "What's your name?"
The tortoiseshell kit looked at Drizzlefrost, more like looking right through her. "I... I can't remember."
"That's strange." Drizzlefrost said with a shrug. "Do you remember why that tom was attacking you?"
The kit simply shook her head.
"Well, if you have no home, you could come with me?" Drizzlefrost suggested. If this kit didn't remember anything, then she had no chance of surviving alone.
The kit nodded. "Yes. I would love to."
"All right. I'll bring you to my camp." Drizzlefrost gently picked the kit up by her scruff then raced back to camp.Drizzlefrost set the kit down at her paws as Oaklight and a few other of her clanmates walked over to her.
"Who's this?" Oaklight questioned, the tone of his voice calm, as always.
"I saved this kit from a cat who was attacking her. She says she can't remember her name, where she lives, or anything." Drizzlefrost explained.
"Poor thing!" Dapplefern raced to the kits side, licking her frantically. "She must be scared out of her mind from what just happened."
"Would you like to take care of her in the nursery?" Oaklight asked the brown tabby she-cat.
"Yes, of course." Dapplefern answered, not looking away from the kit.
"Can I name her?" Drizzlefrost asked. When Oaklight nodded, Drizzlefrost spoke the kit's name for the first time. "Her name will be Pricklekit."
