The clan cheered Drizzlefrost's name, but she could hardly believe it.
Me? Deputy? How!? Drizzlefrost thought with surprise.
"Meeting dismissed!" Oaklight jumped down from the tall tree and padded into his den.
Drizzlefrost looked at her sister and realized she was staring at her, claws unsheathed and teeth bared into a snarl.
"It should be me in your place." Jaggedclaw spat. "It's only a matter of time before Oaklight realizes he made a huge mistake."
Drizzlefrost opened her mouth to reply but Jaggedclaw just stormed away.
"Wow, what a sister she is."
Drizzlefrost jumped, turning around to see Blackstorm. She was sitting with her tail neatly wrapped around her paws.
"She could have at least kept that one to herself." Blackstorm snorted. "I for one, am very proud that my best friend is the deputy of the clan."
  Drizzlefrost smiled. "Thanks."
Blackstorm shrugged. "I was only telling the truth. But why are you just standing here for? Go train your apprentice!"
Drizzlefrost's eyes widened. She had forgotten just for a few minutes. She quickly raced over to the new apprentices and mentors at the camp entrance.
  "I'm here, sorry." Drizzlefrost apologized.
"It's okay." Leapfrost mewed. "And I'm glad Oaklight chose you to be deputy, I would have done the same if I were in his place."
Drizzlefrost smiled and opened her mouth to say thank you but Scorchpelt interrupted.
"Hate to break it to you two, but we've got apprentice's to train." She said.
Drizzlefrost nodded and followed her out of camp.

"Here is the border with WindClan." Drizzlefrost told the apprentice's as they approached the moor. They were standing at the edge of the forest.
"Do the WindClan cat's really run as fast as rabbits?" Cinderpaw asked curiously, her eyes wide.
"Yes. They catch them too." Leapfrost replied with a smile.
"I hope I catch a rabbit one day." Pricklepaw mewed.
"I'm sure you will." Drizzlefrost purred.
"Now remember this border. As soon as you take one pawstep past it, you're on their territory." Scorchpelt explained. "But the same goes for the WindClan cats too."
Flamepaw wrinkled her nose as she sniffed the air. "I know I wouldn't want to cross this border. I'd smell it before I even get close to it."
Leapfrost laughed. "Every clan has their own scent. And I'm pretty sure WindClan feels the same way about our smell."
Scorchpelt turned back towards the forest. "Let's head to the ShadowClan border."

Drizzlefrost stiffened as they approached the ShadowClan border. This was the clan that first rejected her and had chased out Blackstorm.
Scorchpelt's fur bristled as a ShadowClan patrol approached. Leapfrost remained calm, and Drizzlefrost narrowed her eyes. The apprentice's looked at the ShadowClan warriors, excitement shining in their eyes.
Drizzlefrost recognized Darkwillow, from the gathering, among the cats.
"Well, well, well, look what we have here." Darkwillow snarled, standing very close to the border. "Some FireClan fleas."
"Don't be so harsh, Darkwillow." A light gray she-cat said. "These cats are a clan cats, just like us."
Darkwillow glared at the she-cat. "You know as well as any clan cat that the cats standing before us are rouges, not clan cats, Sootpelt."
"And we can prove to you that we're not rouges again!" Cinderpaw hissed.
  "Yeah!" Pricklepaw agreed.
"This isn't worth fighting for." Leapfrost said calmly. "They can believe what they want, even if it isn't true."
Darkwillow snorted then led the patrol away.
"Yeah! You'd better run!" Scorchpelt called after them.
"We already proved to them we aren't rouges, so why do they still think it?" Flamepaw asked.
"That's because they don't truly believe we belong in the forest." Drizzlefrost replied. "Let's head back to camp."
  Leapfrost nodded. "Lead the way."

Once they got back to camp, Drizzlefrost sent Pricklepaw to get something to eat. Drizzlefrost had told Oaklight about the ShadowClan patrol.
"Let's just hope Amberstar doesn't cause any trouble." Oaklight sighed.
"Knowing her, she probably will." Drizzlefrost growled. "We need to be prepared for anything."
With that, Drizzlefrost turned around and walked out of the den.
Bearfur, Scorchpelt, and Jaywing were sharing a rabbit, talking amongst themselves. Bramblemoon and Doeheart were showing the kits how to do a hunting crouch. The kits copied, squeaking with excitement. Dapplefern watched the kits, purring.
Bloodfire was holding a fat mouse. He brought it to Blackstorm, offering to her.
"I'm not hungry, but thanks." Blackstorm declined politely.
"Oh, sorry." Bloodfire looked hurt as he picked the mouse up and padded away.
Drizzlefrost watched, shaking her head before lying down in some shade. She looked around the camp.
Eaglefeather groomed Petalfur's pelt has their kits, Wolfkit and Flashkit play fought nearby. Fangtooth, Bateye, and Onetail were sharing stories about their past.
Onetail and Bateye should become elders soon. Drizzlefrost thought. But otherwise, the clan seemed to be doing well.
Blackstorm walked over to Drizzlefrost and lyed down beside her.
"Ugh. Bloodfire keeps offering me things, I don't know why." Blackstorm snorted.
"That's because he likes you." Drizzlefrost replied.
"Well I don't like him, I like Redstrike!" Blackstorm growled. Suddenly, her eyes sparkled with mischief. "And besides, I know who likes you."
Drizzlefrost shifted her paws awkwardly. "And who is that?"
Blackstorm seemed surprised. "You seriously don't know? It's obvious! The whole clan has been talking about it for moons!"
Drizzlefrost ducked her head down, embarrassed. "Well, who is it then?"
   "Leapfrost!" Blackstorm exclaimed.
Drizzlefrost opened her mouth to reply but was interrupted by a yowl.
Blackstorm and Drizzlefrost both turned to see a ragged gray she-cat burst into camp.
"ShadowClan!" The old cat rasped. "ShadowClan is going to attack!"
