Drizzlefrost followed Oaklight as he led FireClan to the gathering. Yesterday's victory had been a huge win for them. Now FireClan finally had something to boast about.
"Do you think Oaklight will mention the battle?" Leapfrost asked from beside her.
Drizzlefrost shrugged. "Maybe. He doesn't like to stir up trouble but he also doesn't want to seem weak."
"Let's just hope ShadowClan doesn't break the truce." Leapfrost sighed.
"Yeah." She licked his ear before walking next to Blackstorm.
"Are you two mates yet?" Blackstorm asked as they walked.
Drizzlefrost flicked her tail. "Aren't you with Redstrike?"
"Hey, shut up!" Blackstorm whispered. "Not so loud. Remember your promise?"
"Yes. Sorry." Drizzlefrost apologized.Drizzlefrost sat down with the rest of her clan and looked up at the leaders.
"Shall we begin?" Blizzardstar asked.
When all the leaders nodded, the RiverClan leader continued speaking. "Prey is running well and we've had no injuries. There's a new warrior, Mossfur!"
The clan's cheered Mossfur's name. Drizzlefrost's voice rose higher than most. This cat wasn't exactly her friend, yet, but she had been really nice to her at the last gathering. She decided she would personally congratulate her later on at the gathering.
Squirrelstar, Amberstar, and Deadstar had finished sharing their news. But Amberstar didn't mention any battle.
Finally, Oaklight stepped forward. "FireClan has four new warriors. Drizzlefrost, Leapfrost, Jaggedclaw, and Blackstorm!"
As the clans said their names, Drizzlefrost puffed out her chest.
"I have also chosen a deputy." Oaklight continued. "Drizzlefrost!"
Squirrelstar looked at Oaklight. "Drizzlefrost is welcomed to sit beside the rest of the deputies."
Oaklight dipped his head. "Thank you."
He stepped back.
That's it? No mention of the battle?
The leaders jumped down and walked to their clans to prepare for the Pin Battle.
Drizzlefrost pushed her way through all the cats, stopping at RiverClan. She looked around for Mossfur, smiling once she saw the unusual spotted golden pelt.
She walked up to the new warrior. "Hi! Remember me?"
Mossfur purred. "Yes of course! No cat would forget you, since you were the first FireClan cat to win a Pin Battle — Drizzlepaw. Or should I say Drizzlefrost. The deputy of FireClan."
"I'm sure some cats would easily forget me." Drizzlefrost snorted. But she couldn't help but admire Mossfur's cheerfulness.
"That's just some cats. But it doesn't matter what they think." Mossfur replied.
"Especially ShadowClan. They hate all of FireClan, considering they attacked our camp yesterday." Drizzlefrost mewed.
Mossfur's eyes widened. "They attacked your camp?! Is everyone okay?"
Drizzlefrost winced, remembering what she did to Spiderweb. "Yeah, everyone's fine. We won."
"That'll show them not to mess with FireClan!" Mossfur shouted.
Some cats glared at Mossfur, but she ignored them.
"Who do you think Oaklight will pick to participate in the Pin Battle?" Mossfur asked.
"Probably Featherpaw." Drizzlefrost answered. "He's had the most experience out of all the apprentice's."
Suddenly, Mossfur looked up at the leaders with excitement. Drizzlefrost looked at them too.
Amberstar stepped forward. "The five leaders have chosen their apprentice's. So may those five please step forward."
As expected, Featherpaw was the first to step in the center. Next, a dark gray tom with amber eyes from RiverClan stepped forward. He raised his chin in the air as RiverClan cheered his name.
"Thunderpaw! Thunderpaw!"
"Thunderpaw!" Mossfur yowled from beside Drizzlefrost. Leapfrost had come over to watch the Pin Battle with her.
A pale gray ShadowClan apprentice followed Thunderpaw in the center. She puffed out her chest, flexing her claws. After the ShadowClan apprentice, came a black tom with white paws from WindClan. Last was an apprentice from ThunderClan, a light brown tom.
"Thunderpaw from RiverClan will play against Larkpaw from ThunderClan." Blizzardstar yowled.
Drizzlefrost watched as the RiverClan apprentice quickly beat ThunderClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. Even though Featherpaw put up quite a fight, he still didn't have the same speed or skill as Thunderpaw.
"Thunderpaw has won the Pin Battle!" Blizzardstar announced.
Thunderpaw's tail and head were held high as all the clans cheered his name.
"Yes! I can't believe my clan won!" Mossfur exclaimed.
"But are you so sure they'll win next time?" Drizzlefrost purred.
"No, I think maybe it'll be ShadowClan's turn." Mossfur said with a smile. The two warriors laughed, Drizzlefrost stopped as she felt a tail tap on her shoulder.
"Oaklight wants us to leave." Leapfrost said.
"Okay." Drizzlefrost replied, looking at Mossfur. "Congratulations on becoming a warrior, I hope to see you at the next gathering."
Mossfur smiled. "Same to you!"
