Drizzlefrost followed Snowleaf as she led her to the Moonpool. A lot has happened in the past two days. Onetail, Bateye, and Oaklight had moved to the elders den this morning, and Blackstorm had caught a bad fever and was now in the medicine cat's den.
Snowleaf looked back at Drizzlefrost. "We're almost there."
Drizzlefrost nodded and hurried after the medicine cat.Drizzlefrost couldn't keep in a gasp as she saw the Moonpool. She had to admit, it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. The pool shimmered as the setting sun reflected off of the water.
Snowleaf lyed down beside the water. "Drink a little bit of the water and fall asleep. StarClan will meet you when you wake up."
Drizzlefrost looked at the pool and lapped up some of the water. She curled up, shifting a little. It wasn't the most comfortable place to rest but it would do.
She closed her eyes and drifted to sleep, opening them immediately. But she was no longer at the Moonpool. She looked around. She was in a meadow with nine cats in front of her.
"Drizzlefrost."
Drizzlefrost's eyes widened. She recognized that voice, it was her mother!
A gray and white she-cat with striking aqua colored eyes moved towards her, her eyes soft.
"You may not recognize me, you were too young last time you saw me." Graywind said sweetly. "But I watched you ever since you were an apprentice, and I'm so proud of you."
"Mother, I'm so happy to see you." Drizzlefrost almost choked on the words. She pressed her muzzle into her mother's fur, purring. "I've missed you so much. But why? Why did you leave me and Jaggedclaw?"
"I'm so sorry." Graywind whispered. "I've never regretted something so much. I was exiled from my clan for being with your father. I left you with Nev because I trusted he would take good care of you, but I was wrong."
"Let's not think about my father." Drizzlefrost said. "Never again."
Graywind nodded and cleared her voice. "Now, I must give you your first life. With this life I give you love. Love for your clan, and love for your friends and family. It is stronger than what you may think."
Drizzlefrost winced as Graywind pressed her muzzle to her head. She tried her best not to flinch as a burst of energy shot through her like fire.
Graywind stepped back and the pain was gone. Her mother looked at her one more time before taking a another step back. She was replaced by a white she-cat with ice blue eyes.
The she-cat dipped her head. "I'm Icefur, a warrior of WindClan when I was alive."
Drizzlefrost dipped her head back.
"With this life I give you strength. Use it to protect your clan and cats in need. But sometimes strength might be needed for yourself." Icefur mewed, touching her muzzle to Drizzlefrost's forehead.
Drizzlefrost's claws unsheathed as the desire to protect her clan no matter what flooded through her. She closed her eyes.
Drizzlefrost opened her eyes again to see a pale brown tabby tom.
"I am Bumblestar. I was leader of ShadowClan many seasons ago." The tom mewed. "With this life I give you courage."
Drizzlefrost winced a little, letting out a soft hiss of pain. This time the energy wasn't as painful as the life her mother gave her, but it still felt uncomfortable.
Next, a black tabby she-cat with golden eyes walked gracefully towards her. She smiled. "I'm Blackleaf, Blackstorm's mother. Thank you so much for everything you've done for her."
Drizzlefrost smiled back. "Of course. She's my best friend, I would do anything for her."
Blackleaf put her nose on Drizzlefrost's head. "With this life I give you friendship."
Drizzlefrost closed her eyes, smiling as memories of her friends played in her head.
"Tell Blackstorm I'm proud of her." Blackleaf whispered before stepping back.
"I will." Drizzlefrost promised.
A bright ginger she-cat took her place.
"I am Sunshine, I was warrior of ShadowClan." The cat mewed. She pressed her muzzle to Drizzlefrost's forehead. "With this life I give you peace."
Drizzlefrost went stiff as a wave of darkness went through her. She took a deep breath and the darkness was quickly replaced by light.
A black tom with green eyes walked to Drizzlefrost. "I'm Ravenheart, previously a warrior of ShadowClan. With this life I give you loyalty."
Drizzlefrost lifted her head up, her eyes closed. She promised herself that she would be loyal to her clan, no matter what circumstances.
A tom with a fox patterned pelt came to her next.
"I am Foxstar, leader of ThunderClan many, many seasons ago." Foxstar said. "With this life I give you leadership."
Drizzlefrost unsheathed her claws, gritting her teeth to try to fight the pain that surged through her. It was shortly over, as soon as Foxstar lifted his muzzle off of her head.
A small tabby she-cat pattered over to Drizzlefrost next.
"I'm Runningkit!" The kit squeaked. "I lived in WindClan! With this life I give you compassion!"
Drizzlefrost had to kneel down so the kit could reach her forehead. She winced a little, but soon got used to the pain.
Lastly, a gray tom with blue eyes stepped forward.
"I am Graystone, I was a warrior of RiverClan." The tom mewed. "With this life I give you patience."
Drizzlefrost suddenly felt very calm. She nodded gracefully. "Thank you."
Graystone stepped back as the StarClan cat's begun to cheer her new name.
"Drizzlestar! Drizzlestar!"
